Maybe, maybe not. I have been lurking here a lot longer than he has been a member. Given past stuff I reserve judgement, what little good my judgement is. The mods are the sheriff's around here, he is their problem.

Look guys, I know I've only been here for a month, but I think everyone just needs to cooOOooOOOL out! :D

Indeed, and according to many "Adult" websites, they must be 18 yrs of age minimum, so technically, Bladeforums isn't an "Adult" website, but a website open to anyone over 13 to discuss knives. Technically, according to the law, anyone under the age of 18 is considered a minor, thus keeping blade forums from being an "Adult" website.

You have to use a major credit card to access the whine&cheese section, wich would make it 18+.

Nothing obscene there. Just a goofy pic of Sean Connery in a lame movie.[/COLOR]

Y'm not sure if you've seen Zardoz wm, but there is a scene where the godhead Zordoz proclaims that the male anatomy is evil. I find that HIGHLY offensive.:)

HECK, you can find pics of Borat in that bright green speedo thing on most major public internet sites that I am certain many children visit. Why not here?

I can find images that are illegal in all but 3 or 4 states on public sites. The level of "immorality" that is found elsewhere publicly should not be the standard by wich our restrictions are set.

While I dont find the zed photo's particularly disturbing, I can see where a select few would. If I was a moderator on this forum and got three or four requests to edit the pictures, I would probably actively discourage the use of them just to keep from having a headache over it. Zardoz and Zed arent so important to me that I would consider it a personal offence to my 1st amendment right to have them posted.

And in the end, whats placed on this site is Sparks to edit as he sees fit. If he partitions that power to a select few moderators, then its theres to edit as they see fit.

Interesting editing.....

Just noticed that WM edited his first post, wonder why?

ya, yellow is definitly NOT Cobalts color, especially with the extra hairy cheeks. :barf: and the lack thereof on the other fellow

Guys, what I'm talking about isn't about right or wrong, it's really more about getting a clear idea of what is really acceptable here and what is not.
A while ago, (I believe) Matteo Escobar posted that this forum was getting too far away from the discussion of knives and discussing things that were off topic. Many others, including Jerry, responded to this by saying that he liked the forum better this way, it made for a better place to make friends and just have a good time.
Leatherman, you call this a knife forum, yet it is not, rather it has evolved something that is more like the old Himilayan imports forum before it was split up because it was getting too big.

WM, can you explain it in more detail please. I am not understanding what you mean. Can you give examples. Post an example please. Like the JErkit, can you post that?

Well, don't post pictures of people in their underwear. Don't use swear words. Don't outright insult people without qualifying it with examples or logical reasoning.

That covers most of it. I beleive the same would have gone for the old HI as well.

And, preferably, follow all applicable bladeforums.com rules. Wich includes not maintaining multiple fake user accounts.

My worthless opinion is that we are for the most part adults in a public forum. We are not at church or school.
Occasionally there might be something that offends someone else, whether it be words or pictures.
My solution to those that get offended is: MAN UP!!! Part of being a grown up is being able to get your feelings hurt and move on...and get over it!

That is my worthless opinion on the whole deal.

I'll shut up now!
