I know the temptation to leap toward fixed blade knives for practical edc applications, but any reasonable person would exhaust the folding knife possibilities first.
I just bought an Izula to EDC next to my Sig after a quite a few wonderful and educational posts from fellow members. Please explain to me how a thinner blade with a hinge point is more rugged then a full shank blade?

New York City is not very friendly to people who wish to carry knives. Neither is Chicago, San Francisco, D.C. or Los Angeles. Folders are easier to carry as EDC blades.
I live in a free state and can see how scaring the masses with a fixed blade blade is possible.

BUT

If one can conceal a handgun one can conceal a fixed blade within reason on size just as easily. A person has to dress around concealed carry the right holster, (sheath) belt and clothing combinations.

Is your Izula in 1095 or S35VN?

My every day carry is a Arno Bernard Bongo with Kudu bone handles. I have not heard one person point out that folding takes TIME, I should say unfolding. There are times where I need a knife and don't want to be digging in a pocket full of dirt. Then to try (with no fingernails to speak of ) and open that sand filled knife. No Thank You That Is Unreasonable.

The OP has obviously not scrolled through the “EDC” thread to find out that most of us do carry a folding knife on the regular basis 🙄

IDK if it was Confuse'cious that said ''Those who walk behind cars get exhausted and those who walk in front of cars get  Tired...🤣
I believe I’m gonna fail that test, even if you grade on a curve.
Grade on a Curve...like a Hawkbill perhaps ?
B.T.B. 😉

At OP: I don't actually get what you are trying to say.

Maybe try to use a different wording and a less confused structure to your message.

Your info that New York has stupid laws regarding fixed blade knives is recognizable, and that may be the case. However, New York is only one of the many places where people on this forum come from.

My country for example (Germany) has stupid folding knife laws, and carrying a fixed blade EDC is easier.

One more thing: If you read through this amazing forum, you will find out that the concept of "one best knife" is not a real thing, but only a sign of not enough experience with knives.

Except Smatchet.
