1. large fixed blade - none, no need

2. med. fixed blade - none, none, no need

3. small fixed blade - Busse BA3

4. folder - take it only if I forget to take it out because really there is no need, it is either Victorinox Picnicker or Syderco Delica. I also have Victorinox Climber on keychain, so it comes automatically

5. multi-tool - Victorinox SwissChamp

6. axe/hatchet/hawk - none, no need

7. firestarter - Bic lighter in "just-in-case-bag", Spark-lite and British army matches from 24hr ration pack in PSK, lighter on keychain, but usually I use Swedish Scout firesteel jsut for practice (and bowdrill as well :D ).

Hey, Cole!
Im a Thornton, too!

I carry:-
SRKW Battle Rat or Becker BK9 (Both with Altoids tins in Sheath pouches)
Frost Mora or Becker BK7
Becker Necker or Kershaw Amphibian
Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn (or Gerber Kiowa) or SAK Explorer
Leatherman Wave
Killian K5 Spike (when here! Should be soon now) CS Trail hawk at present
Swedish Firesteel or Sparklite

1. none
2. none
3. EKA H8
4. zilch (but I carry some small surgical razor blades)
5. Gerber - but when i lose/break this one I'll but a leathermen;
I brought some army webbing back from South africa and traded it for some gear at a local camping store, so the Gerber was 'free', but if I had my time over I'd go with a leatherman - the Gerber is riddled with design faults.
6. a cane-knife, local farmers co-op brand.
7. I used to have one of these but frankly I'm 'over' them! These days I prefer to carry a zippo plus I absolutely always carry an old plastic film canister full of matches, the matchbox, and some cotton wool.
