I like Doglegs

Here's a bare head dogleg...Hibbard Spencer Bartlet & Co - 3"closed probably celluloid but possibly Ivory can't tell for sure. And a bone Ulster also 3" with Candle End Bolster at the bottom & Stepped Bolster on top.

Is it just a coincedence or Dous a dogleg always have a main spearblade. I like the shape but should have wanted a Clipblade.

Great pics. But is begs two questions: Why do I open these threads and is it possible to ban myself from this section of the board? I have other hobbies and more knives than I could use if I live to be 200. Impulse control failing...

That F.A.Koch is a beauty! Wouldya lookit that pen blade with the long pull:thumbup: !!!

This old goat still snaps like a gator!! Charlie, I knew you would notice that pen blade. It is hardly worn and has probably about 99% of it's original shape. The Dogleg pattern and the grinds and overall workmanship on these old timers is all but gone in this day and age with rare exceptions. I think I am gonna need more :D

I might have to leg wrestle SunnyD for that Cripple Creek !!!

Some great stuff here. Aren't some of these regular jacks though? A dogleg is curved away from the blade, right?

That's the way I know them Navihawk. But, I see the ones like you posted called doglegs as well. I have heard of both of them being referred to as reverse doglegs depending on what a particular person considers a dogleg. Kind of like the chicken and the egg. I would like to know myself which is which or are they both doglegs  Maybe Mister Bose with help us out?

The first post on page one of this thread are true doglegs. They are a heavy workhorse of a knife. I'm working on one now, when it's finished I'll have Kerry post it here.

Thanks Tony !! If anyone does a search for doglegs in the Old Knives thread they will find some absolute beauties in there.

Can you picture this frame and bolsters with some custom blades and scales ?
