I guess different folks different strokes. I personally find the new texture welcoming. I personally have no issue with CS clip on many different kind of pants, if i choose to carry clipped. Oh and i own tons of Benchmade, ZT & Spyderco as well, so it's not like i only exclusive carry Cold Steel(carrying at ZT0909 at the moment).
I like stiffer clip and its retention so i have no issue with CS clip at all. In fact the American Lawman has my favorite clip design and placement. It actually carries deeper than the some deep carry knives such as ZT0909. I do agree that the smoother G-10 scale makes carrying it easier.

I love my ZT 0909......and it scales/clip.
 
Take a pencil, outline the end of the clip, remove the clip and put a dab of 5min epoxy on the outlined area. It ain't rocket science.
 
yeah one can sand or epoxy flat or modify the flawed clip area. they are flawed in design or people wouldn't be doing these modifications, that says it all really.

yeah it ain't rocket science easy to do but should we all have to do it? shouldn't it just be better for cold steel to change the way they do it from the factory? too each their own......

It's not that easy.. I meant, implementation wise it's easy, the hard part is the decision whether to do this or not, and i'm guessing they are probably all driven by customer service data.

We sure got a lot of complains about the pocket clip on the forums but understand that the forums only represent a subset of people and potentially of an entirely different demographic than the rest of CS users. Also, as demonstrated in this thread we do have different opinions on the clip. I for example likes their clip, they are minimalist, carry relatively deep and secure. That's what i'm looking for, however others here may have a different set of criteria. They can't possibly make 2 version of each model just with different pocket clip/handle scale.

Polarizing issue like this is especially hard as you cannot make one decision without alienating another group of people, so sometimes it might be best to just not make any change as any change will affect the cost of production i.e. new design, machining, workflow etc. Unless there got a lot of complains from their customer service or sales department about horrible clip then perhaps they will be compelled to make the change.
