jupiter, i did its not the same blade shape but close. it seems i wont be able to find the same knife and so i am looking at some other brands. my hunt will continue though i hope to one day find the exact knife again.

That's cool. I figured since the one in stock anywhere is up charged to $160, which is insane, the slightly different blade shape was pretty close, same brand and materials for $8 it's almost no risk. I definitely support an upgrade though. AUS8 is ok, but so many better options even for budget prices. I actually have a similar Timberline the Discovery which is a harpoon tanto blade and I like it for what it is. Good luck my friend. Do you have a price range? That Kizer Begleitter is like $55 I think is a hell of a nice knife.

i would like to thank all of you i decided on the kizer vg-10. its a suitable replacement so far but i do is how my old knife was so easy to open i could just flip my wrist and it would open i find myself trying it with this knife all the time but nothing doing this thing is tight and holds itself closed for sure. anyway thanks everyone for all the help. i'm still gonna keep my eyes peeled for a replacement if i ever see another timberline... ;-)
