I love Elmax Steel - it's my personal favorite. Why is this steel not used more?

I only have one knife in Elmax. A ZT 0801. It’s been great! It’s top tier in my book.
There are a few fixed makers here that occasionally use Elmax. i’m always very tempted to pick one up, but I seldom have the opportunity to really use fixed blades (outside of the kitchen), and already have my needs met for camping & etc.

As others have stated, I think it got a bad rap early on due to some HT issues that ?maybe? got a little overblown.

Speak of the devil, Bradford is doing some of their Guardian series in Elmax now. Limited runs only from what I gather but still cool.

I'd been waiting (or at least hoping) for a MagnaCut version of the 3.5 Tanto. (The one in my profile pic is N690.) Still not having plans on the books for MagnaCut (and Larrin's new prototype steel only being available on the 3.2), I may pick up a 3.5 Tanto in Elmax when they drop.
