Your job looks like my job...but I'd rather build knives than houses....if I get as good at building knives as I am at building houses, I can quit building houses and actually start building knives!!!Well to be honest, I love everything about knife making. The only things I don't love about knife making are the things that prevent me from knife making... like my job, but I love my job too!View attachment 2019330
Not if there’s a teenage boy in the familyAn old knife maker buddy of mine once asked me..." what's the difference between a knife maker and a large pizza?" "I don't know" I said. He replied, "a large pizza can feed a family of four"
I thought I was the only one that did that.In other thread I wrote that I hate when I drill holes in scale on wrong side and most likely that is not true .
I must love it seems I do that again !! Two times in a row can t be coincidence

Who would know ? Maybe only you and I admitted that we did itI thought I was the only one that did that.
It could be worse, like if you were a dentist..I can't even count the number of times I have made two right or left scales when boring Corby bolt seats. As you did, I just made two more of the other side and had a set ready for another knife.
It happens easily when you are doing a large batch of knives and aren't paying attention while drilling.
One of the worlds mysteries. Lol!!!Who would know ? Maybe only you and I admitted that we did it![]()
Stay away from Cancun, Quintana Roo is a $hit show right now! Go to Belize or something...When its tapering down and those Christmas projects are done. We always say we're heading to Cancun after the Christmas rush.......we never do.
Margaritaville, its five o' clock somewhere!
Nah we always stay home. All the kids come and besides I make a helluva margarita!Stay away from Cancun, Quintana Roo is a $hit show right now! Go to Belize or something...
How often does that happen??I love it when I heat treat without something on my oven breaking.
Is this bag standard offer available at any time ? I visited your site and it is there ? I would like to buy one next year . I like it !When its tapering down and those Christmas projects are done. We always say we're heading to Cancun after the Christmas rush.......we never do.

Trial and error is part of the fun of knife making...I have a homebuilt oven and it's been a little bit of a trail and error process. Temps over 1700F have often had a 50/50 change of causing something to go wrong, mostly with the coils. Most of the issue is I was just running the coils too hard. It's been better once I reduced my wattage.
