Got to talking to a customer at the Cigar Shop I work at about knives, and he ended up bringing me these today, said he no longer needed or wanted them, all bought new. The Gerber he bought new in around '88. I made darn sure he knew that the BMF wasn't a cheapo, but he insisted and I sure didn't press the matter!

These are gonna stay nice and safe on my kit next time I play Army on the weekend.

BMF was made by Gerber in the mid 80'-late 90's

The Gerber on the left is the Bolt Action, a Blackie Collins fore runner of the axis lock.

The Gerber BMF survival knife is another great knife of its era.

What a guy. Fine blades indeed from the era of Gerber integrity.

Did he friend you the Benchmade Pardue, too?

I'll bet that Gerber bmf came with a nice stout hunk of leather didn't ?
I always love seeing vintage leather sheaths.

Can you show us the sheath for the BMF, and I'm wondering, does BMF per chance stand for Big Mother F@#ker

This thing is what I would consider a "Survival Sheath. Plenty of room for small items, multi-tool, small aid kit and the included Compass. Has ALICE clips on the rear, as well as a traditional Belt Loop.

Lefty, when I told him that it wasn't a cheapo- he said he didn't mind, as I had given him several sticks from Cuba in the past... Think a Xikar cutter is going to be in his near future now, too!

Guess you need to let that customer sample some things from the store. ;) Nice score on the knives by the way. Go play army.
