I love my job sometimes.

I've got one of those Gerber Bolt Action folders. I bought it new back in the 80s sometime or another to replace the much heavier Buck 110 I had formerly been carrying on my belt.

Other than having no idea what the steel is, and the fact that it does not operate one-handed very easily without a fairly significant wrist "whip", it's right up there with any other modern folder in ergonomics and function.

My Bolt Action was so slick I could open it by placing my thumb on the side of the blade and rotating it up and out. My brother was never as much of a knife knut as me but one look at the Bolt Action and he went and got one.

No pocket clip but my standard carry was dropping it flat in my left front pocket with my wallet on top. Just like my SAKs and traditionals.

Picked up the Gerber Bolt Action at the PX in the early '90's. Mine came with the interchangeable saw blade and went through hell and back. Great knife for the price.

I received a Gerber bolt action from my parents for Christmas one year- my first real hunting knife. It came with the saw blade as well. I lost the saw blade on a hunting trip in Nebraska many years later. Several years after that I was in an archery shop and they had both the saw blade and the gut hook blade in the display. I bought the saw but not the gut hook. The shop changed hands and inventory after that. Even though I really don't have a use for it, I wish I would have grabbed the gut hook too.
