I love Swiss Army Knives but their advertising is pretty funny

My brother is an attorney and not skilled in outdoor pursuits but he and his family come along with us frequently in our (not VW) camper van or to our cabin so when I see that picture, I assume his brother is just out of frame laughing at him and looking for the wing nut for the Sven saw.

I got this picture in an email pushing Swiss Army Knives for camping. How well do you think this is going to work out for this dufus? The people in this ad and the ones setting up this shot have never spent a day in the wilderness in their lives, much less used an SAK for any task.

RangerGrip has a really nice 4" wood saw . Very effective on smaller diameter and for scoring to break larger pieces .

But , the way too clean male model in the ad , has a leering expression , that says he's thinking mostly about sharing some "fat wood" with Miss Red Shoes . 🤔

No way that guy actually uses his SAK...he hasn't even lost the toothpick yet ;)
That is why I bought one of those box kits that has all the little parts for SAK's like the pick, springs, screws, screwdrivers, etc. I did not loose too many myself but over the years as a Scout leader I sure did find it handy to have around.

I have used the saw on my SAKs plenty of times. It’s usually what I’ll use to cut down a hiking stick I like, when bumming around the woods. The SAK saw makes quick work of PVC pipe as well. I replumbed a section of my pool house using the SAK saw on one of my Farmers.

I think YouTube has convinced many that the only way to cut wood is with Batoning and that you need to carry equipment with you so as to survive for a year any time you step outside.

I would expect that for a Hike in a semi-public area you may not need more than a single blade knife, if that.
You should also take your Marble's match case full of big strike-anywhere kitchen matches.

Can attest to this as well. SAK saws are actually super aggressive and will chew through virtually any wood found out in the woods of my state with no issue.

I guess to be fair he could be sawing only part way through the stick.

I actually have this one in my pocket today. Not sure what model it is, but I’ve never seen another one like it. Wife got it for me years ago and it has all black mirrory blades on it. No saw blade though. I’m slippin’ today.

I don’t carry this onyx one much. Most of the time, it’s one of my Farmers or Pioneers.
I just carry that one I showed. don't know model, just has all tools I use a lot. rarely use the blades on it, but sometimes.......

I got some other versions at home, but prefer this one, so it's the one I carry daily.

I think it is a pretty good ad. Forum members are not the intended target of that ad, yet it still has gotten over 50 responses here so far! I wouldn't doubt that it sold a few knives here.

Who, Victornox? Ha! This ad is so good, it's actually been chronologically retroactive and they've been selling me SAKs for like, 30 years!
