quite refreshing! first class! all transactions in the exchange should go so smooth after a mistake. looks like it's all good.

Silverband and I continue to communicate, the latest:

Dave

As already stated you will be paid as soon as I have either my money back from my error or my paycheck is deposited into my bank account. Which ever comes first. I must have the money in order to give it to you. However Friday AM is my goal.

I do understand that you have incured return shipping fees. That however is the price of buying a knife sight unseen specifically saying you did not need pictures. I save that PM as well. Then returning a perfectly serviceable knife. Strider tells me this knife is totally normal. The knife is in fact a excellent example of a SMF.

I will return your money as a gift to avoid further frees.

Trust me I am as excited to get this afair behind me as you are. I will be posting this entire message into the open forum thread I created because I am concerned at the change in tone of these communications.

Rest assured you will be paid as soon as I have the money to pay you.

Hi Jim,

I am requesting for you refund me FRI AM at the latest.
Please make sure that I do not incur fees on my full
refund. Bear in mind that it has cost me
money to ship this back to you and time waiting for
the refund.

Thanks,

Dave

as requested:

There is little point in arguing about this. The knife has been returned a refund in is progress.

There is ZERO blade play in this knife. Blade play refers to a blade loose in the folder body.
This blade is not loose, in fact it is quite tight. There is however flex in all mechanical joints.
It is possible with this knife when is is folded closed to get the blade to touch one side by pushing on it.
This is not a defect. But it does not matter because I have agreed to refund your money and I am trying my best to do so.

I do wonder how you would have paid your bills if you had not returned the knife? Your comments make me wonder if this
is a costly to me case of buyers remorse. That also does not matter because once again I have already agree to refund your money.
I am working hard to do so.

You will be paid as soon as I have the money to do so.

Jim,

Can you please tell me who you spoke to at Strider? I'd like to know if they consider
normal when a blade has enough lateral play to rub against the framelock on
the way up. I really liked the blade, but as I mentioned I have never encountered
that much play on a blade and this may just be a Strider thing. Please post all our
communications I don't mind and have nothing to hide. Requesting my refund Fri.
AM is because I have bills to pay and this will give me time to pay them. Just like
you I don't have an endless supply of money.

Thanks,

Dave

Jim,

What do you say we put this fire out. I am not going to argue with you about
how much lateral blade play that knife had, let's keep this in
check. Just keep your word, which I trust, to refund me on friday,
and if you can, as a gesture of consideration pay me in the AM I would
appreciate it. There is no purpose for a fight in me in this matter.

Best,

Dave

Just a point of clarification. I did not promise to pay you by Friday.

I promised to pay you as soon as I get paid or I get my money back from the error.
The instant I can I will repay you. I will do my best to pay you by the date you have requested, but I do not promise to meet that dead line.

However rest assured it will not drag on one second longer than needed.

Jim

Jim,

Please clarify this further.... I understand friday to be the last day of the month and your payday....and you stated
I'd be refunded even if your side of things wasn't resolved. Your words below:

"My Cell is 831-xxx-xxxx I will stick with you until this is settled.
You will be paid even if he does not return my money. But you will need to wait until payday. Last day of the month."

Sigh..... I have to get the check from my work place. They issue them after 11 am. Then I have to go to the bank on my lunch hour to deposit the check.
Then once the bank shows the money as being in my account..... You get paid. Or if my money from pay pal arrives first... you get paid.
You get paid as soon as I have the money to do it!! I would sell my ass on the street at this point to get this over with.

Look I am not dicking around here. The instant I have something to give you...wham! You get a paypal gift payment.

Jim,

Fair enough. If you just refund me through paypal "refund payment option"
on our transaction details screen, you will recoup the fees they charged you
for the original transaction, and not have to pay new ones for sending a gift
payment. Since apparently there is a hold on this errant payment till the 29th
you should be good to go soon after.

Dave

In order to end this faster I asked a friend for a loan for a few days. So I issued the paypal refund a few mins ago. I used the paypal refund option as David suggested. I am going to go get drunk.

Wow, what a refreshing thread! No drama, no discord; just plenty of class from all involved. Nicely done guys. I'd deal with each and every one of you any day any time. . .

To any of you following this thread DTMBINB the guy who got the refund by mistake has been in constant contact with me about getting me my money back.

He is actually the stand out guy in this thread in terms of behavior. He had nothing to lose and 450 reasons for breaking off contact. If the exchange forum had medals of honor..... this would be the guy.

Thanks for the kind words. I wish I could have returned the money sooner but I felt better about waiting until the paypal hold was removed. I will send back the cash tomorrow. Glad you worked it out.

This thread is a breath of fresh air. For the most part everyone kept their heads in check, and the OP could not have been more transparent. After reading through all this I would not hesitate to deal with anyone involved here. Thank You to all for showing how remaining level headed and being painfully honest about an error can avert all the drama that occurs when a person is honest and forthright. This would be a great teaching example for any new or old members on how to successfully deal with a problem in a transaction. Thumbs up to all involved.

I have received notification of a refund in process. Completion of refund notification
will be sent on monday, as per Paypal. All looks good.
