I might get killed for this.

lets put mine and your sebenza to the test then? i will buy you two brand new ones if my knife fails under load before yours does either direction, open or closed. if yours fails first i get to keep the broken pieces for a trophy and post pictures on this site. care to wager?

i will put my lock up against anyones out there, period.

You stole Benchmades Axis lock and beefed it up. Thats nothing to brag about my friend.
It would have been if it was something original you created and hadn't stolen.

I thought that Michael Walker failed to patent the liner lock? Nevermind, but is or isn't the axis lock under patent? Patents seem to be quite useless.

nope.

newsflash: if this was the case, all liner locks and frame locks not made with royalties paid to Michael Walker for the last three decades would need to be pulled from shelves. http://www.knife-expert.com/liners.txt Let's see the high horses trot out now.

Benchmade owns the design patent on the Axis lock.

Benchmade offers several mechanisms, from patented exclusives including the unparalleled AXIS®

AXIS® A patented Benchmade exclusive, AXIS®

What does that have to do with anything? The axis has a patent if you didn't know.
And who is on their high horse ?

Thats correct. A manufacturer can't make the axis lock. I'm not sure about an individual though.

Roche Products v. Bolar Pharmaceutical:
by 1861, the law was "well-settled that an experiment with a
patented article for the sole purpose of gratifying a philosophical
taste, or curiosity, or for mere amusement is not an infringement
of the rights of the patentee." Peppenhausen v. Falke, 19 F. Cas.

Makes sense, if it isn't for monetary gain which is why patented property is mainly protected in the first place.

he asked if it was copyright violation. and check the other post since there is an experimental use exemption to recreating patented articles

its called progress, and maybe i still have some asthetic refining to do but its not just beefed up its refined too. for another instance my lock bar is one solid machined piece instead of 6 little tiny pieces like bm.did you notice how the thumbstuds hit the liners at the same time the back of the blade hits the stop? this gives 4 points of contact and no room for wiggle. bm could have done so much more for their product and their customers 5-10 yrs. ago now too MANY overseas man. have done it for them.

Ok, so your knives are better than anything else out there. What's next Captain? If you're not gonna sell it, then it's all just a tease.

Soooo... What should we do? Keep buying our favorite brands? Or buy $20 knives instead like you do? Either way , it won't be as good as getting your best ever handmade knives that you can't legally sell.

nope.

I was just wondering what the liner lock post above had to do with it since it didn't have a patent.

I also think you can make an AXIS if you don't sell it. Not sure if he's selling any or not.

keep buying whatever you like ,just need to understand when it comes to a production piece you are always paying 75% for two things, first the name, second the manufacturers machines which is what i said in my very first post here
