I need a hard-use knife

I myself am going through a similar decision. I'm leaning Becker BK2. I would love a RC-5, but think the Becker is a great value.

Busse Busse Busse all the way. 6 to 8 inch range. Any Natural Outlaw or Steel Heart Model will do you just fine. I think the Sarsquatch is also in that range. Only knife of that size you'll ever need. But you'll want more once you got one.

I must add Fehrman into the mix. They are my favorite hard use knives. Great company, great steel, great blades!

You definitely need to include the Becker Line.

I have a Becker BK9 and a Rat RC-3. Both are great value knives. The finish on the Rat is better, but I also paid more for it than the Becker. Which is the better value? That depends...

The BK7 can be found for less than $80,
The RC-6 for around $130

While the Becker can be found for a lot less, the RAT has a much better warranty. You will never have to worry about wearing it out.

All I know is, I'll probably be buying more from both companies..

Please make a video of that...a 3/16 tick Busse that cut through a CS SRK!

I would really like to see that man!

Busses come as thick as .41. No need to limit it to 3/16ths. I'm sure it would ruin the edge of the Busse, but I bet it could do it. Did you see the torture vid where they beat a Busse through something like a steel motorcycle frame. Those same guys broke an SRK.

If you go for a Bark River I would suggest looking at the Bravos and Auroras as well. The Gamekeepers have ricassos and I find that they can get in the way when doing some bushcraft tasks.

Seems strange no one even mentioned the Ranger Knives RD7 here. Great knife, great warranty period.
