Dude, I'd suggest finding someone on here that is selling a BlackJack. Either a Model 125, a Skinner, or a Trailguide. Both are small enough to gut a fish with, and the blade steel and convex grind will tackle anything with antlers with ease. I've seen them selling around here for a$100 give or take a 20 dollar bill, and it will definitely be an investment you can pass along to your kids...and probably their kids as well.

Entrek Badger. You might be able to find one <$100 online. USA made, essentially a handmade knife at production prices. I used a Javalina as my deer knife last year and I really appreciated the grippiness of the canvas micarta scales.
