I need a knife that can cut anything.

I need a good knife that can slice anything... I wanna show off to my friends when we go hunting this upcoming sat. Anyone know of some tough ass knives ? No need for a budget I'm up to any price ,any knife.

You want some sort of wonder knife for this coming Saturday? To show off? Money is no object?

I think people would think more of you if you could demonstrate real skills rather than just go waving some big knife around.

The knife doesn't make the man.

Really.

No such thing I am afraid. Get a Benchmade 171 if you'd like to do well in a 2 x 4 chopping contest. Use an Ontario 18 inch machete if you are in the tropics. Try out a 1311 for the rest of the stuff that needs cutting. Following all the exercise, give Donavon Phillips a call.

Your question is pretty open ended. As such, you are probably not going to get much consensus on suggestions. I would suggest trying to narrow down the field a bit so that people can more accurately suggest something to fit your needs.

One thing I would throw in though, is that knives that are 'super tough' are usually not all that great at slicing.

Have you tried Adamantium claws, it will hurt like a mother when they install them and whenever you deploy them too but they will cut anything. :D

I'd say lightsaber is the way to go. You get the portability of a foot-long handle but the utility of a 4 foot long blade!

People that claim they have no budget, usually do, and it usually isn't very big

Hi there; I'm new to the forums yet not new to knives; gonna chime in here and say that all knives, INFi or other all have their limits. it comes down to heat treatment that produces the magic. oh yeah make sure its sharp.

Why is everyone lately wanting or carrying knives just to show off?

You want something that will work and cut well. It doesn't matter if it's pretty or flashy or made of the latest super steel. It doesn't have to be special or have a super steel to get the job(or other jobs) done.

I suggest picking up something like a Spyderco Sage 2, or a Spyderco Chaparral Titanium. Small knives, good steels, hold a good edge, slice like crazy, and can handle just about any EDC chore. Both have relatively thin blades and are thin behind the edge for slicing, but can handle other jobs(non-slicing) very well.

I have noticed that too not sure why one of my favorite EDC knives is a toss up between my leatherman charge, my one handed trekker, or my opinel

Sometimes you just need a "Oh S---!" blade

No, most people will be fine seeing a piece of real quality that can take care of all of the tasks at hand.
You really don't need something flashy and big. You can get that "Wow that's a nice knife" without carrying around a knife just to strive for that reaction.
I've gotten wows over my Spyderco Squeak and Kershaw Blur.
You're better off with something that works good, ergonomic, has a good steel, and can handle your daily chores.

OP - It doesn't have to be super fancy to get the job done and impress people. Most people are wowed at how sharp a nice knife is. They are wowed because it's a good knife and does what it needs to without so much as flinching at the job(yes knives can flinch). Get something that will slice well, hold a good edge, and will be comfortable to use on a hunting trip. If it so happens to be a great looking knife at the same time, so be it. :D

Since you said your going camping, but want a blade that can cut anything, I am guessing you aren't talking chainsaws eh?

I figure you are wanting to just chop through some dead trees. Pick up a Busse since you have an unlimited budget. Now, if you can't spend that much money, get a esee junglas. Great chopper.

If you can't spend 180 on the esee, pick up a MTech 151 trailmaster clone. very tough, and for $20 that sounds like it will be the best for your "unlimited" budget

I have noticed that I have a sneaky suspicion he might be a younger person which is fine we need new blood and all, but he doesn't know what we know yet is all someday in the future he will be talking about quality and all that good stuff we have all grown to look for in a knife.
