I need a TOUGH knife

Price always rears it's ugly head, but..........no price limit always points me towards a Strider SMF or a Grayman Satu folder, 'specially if you like really big EDC knives!!

I am really hard on my knives at work. I carried a buck 110 for about 4 years never had an issue at all with it. It took everything I threw at it, if a folder is a must I would go with a 110. If a folder isnt a must I would suggest what I carry now an esee 3. That knife is so tough it has a no questions ask free replacement lifetime warranty he breaks it he gets a new one free. My esee 3 could proably chop apart a small car if I had the time to do so.

Ontario Rat 1 is a excellent knife, but I also would recommend the Recon 1, or possibly the full size Cold Steel AK47. Check them out.

I like the Rat 1, have several and have given a lot as gifts. It's one of the best buys for around $30. If he likes Buck knives and you don't want to get another 110 for him, look at the TOPS / Buck CSAR-T Avid. I haven't seen one in person but I've heard it's a beast of a knife and it's less than $100.

I'll start with Strider SMF and move to Grayman Satu.......the Satu is larger and would fit a "mountain man" quite well.

I woul go with a gec 23 they are strong knives and big t 4 1/2
