I need a ultra light, strong, not serrated, key chain knife, as my primary cutting to

I carry a classic But work in a much differnt environ than you.

I Havre to cast my vote for a spyderco for you. i have used the ladybug but never the Jester, and i have nothing but good to say about the Knife.

you might also consider a small fixed blade like the cold steel key chain knives, I have used one of these I think it was called the MIni Pal. to cut pvc and it worked quite well.

I've been carrying a Swiss Army Classic but it is useless.

I carry a Spyderco Civilian in my pocket but I won't use it, what suggestions do you guys have for a solid, little key chain knife that is of high quality for cutting strings, etc.

You've found a SAK Classic to be useless in cutting strings, etc.?

Get a Vic Soldier or a Vic Farmer. The Farmer is basically a soldier with an extra saw blade. Pocket sized and able to cut through a 2x4 if you need to :)

AG Russell Ultimate Pen knife is a great knife for your keychain. Works for great cutting string, sharpening pencils or opening letters. It is VERY small though. I believe that they just started making a slightly larger lockback version as well.

VG-10 and titanium handles for $20 though, how can you really go wrong?

Here is a pic with a Leek and a Para Mil

Spyderco Jester and Ladybugs are also great choices, and also the Benchmade Benchmite / Benchmite II.

My wife carries a Kershaw Baby Boa on her keychain (along w/ a Leatherman Micra). It's small and attractive and has a deep belly that's great for slicing.

Any of the following would also be good:
Benchmade BenchmiteII
Bladetech Mouselite
Buck Colleaque/Scholar
Camillus Sizzle (very nice)
Kershaw Chive
Spyderco Cricket
Spyderco Finch
Spyderco Spin
Spyderco Starling

The ultimate pen knife would be great for after work carry, but I think the key chain part would break off under the stress it comes under in my pocket during work.

I think the Spyderco Ladybug at .56 oz looks like the best bet for my key chain.

Now I need to find the best price. Thanks guys.

could be. don't know. Mine has been on my key chain for a year and seems fine. My keys are not under much stress sitting at my desk though. You could always take the little key chain part off and hook the ring right through the frame (backspacer actually) of the knife. I don't think you'd have to worry about that breaking at all.

my Byrd Starling is a nice tiny keychain knife! ~$10 each at the pharmacy =)

i second this nomination. you can't go wrong with this pick. it's basically the Byrd version of the jester but 8cr13MoV i guess would be considered an upgrade to AUS6 and it has a more useful blade shape IMO. spear/drop point with a slight upper swedge for penetration.
