The bug has bitten hard, and it's all your fault! :-)
I've always loved knives, but now that I've gotten a taste of what's out there, I'm really hooked. I bought a Spyderco Military recently, and I absolutely love it. So now, I don't know what to get next. I'm very impressed with what I have, which leads me to believe anything from Spyderco is gonna be grand. But I have the flagship. What's next? Something from Benchmade? Or Emerson? Or maybe somebody I don't know about yet? All opinions are appreciated!
(Geez, that's a dangerous statement....)

I don't think that you have exhausted Spyderco yet. Try a BF Blue Native, it is a superb smaller knife, G10 and 440V, just like the Military. Then there is the StarMate, I actually prefer it to my Military. Think about a Matriarch or a Civilian, if you seek a defensive knife. If fixed blades appeal, look at the Moran.

Then, try a REKAT Carnivore or SIFU. My Carnivore is some strong! Also, the BenchMade Axis knives and, if you feel flush enough, a Chris Reeves Sebenza.

Well, enough, I have to go.

Another Spyderco, of course! You may have the "flagship," but Spyderco makes lots of great knives, and every collection needs at least 7 or 8 of them.

Shop around and find ones that appeal to your eye and budget. It is especially good to go to shows and hold them in your hand. If you go by pictures or word of mouth alone you might not be happy with what you get.

That's simple Lagerman!
Just buy one of E V E R Y T H I N G ! ! !

Always willing to advise,

Hey, my R.E.K.A.T. SIFU is for sale. That should satisfy the "I want a BEEEEG folder" desire.

Now that you have one of the best "working" Spydies, try one of the best looking!

Howard Viele Custom. Great shape, beautiful micarta scales, good steel, SMOOTH AZZ ACTION!!!

A true dress-up knife, but only reccommended in full serrated!

Do not be fooled! One hell of a hard worker as well, and the grip design allows for easy clean up as well!

If you like the Military get your self a large Benchmade AFCK.You rarely here a bad comment about them. I love mine ,wouldnt part with it.

Save your money up for the next month and buy yourself a Sebenza for Christmas. You wont regret it.

Thanks for all the input, guys! It's interesting to hear everyone's opinion. Keep 'em comin'!

My vote would be for something from Sean Perkins or, on the opposite end of the spectrum, a sweet machete from Ross Aki. Ross makes the best ATS-34 machetes around and they are superb if you find yourself needing one. Sean makes little integral fixed blade pocket knives that are sharp as hell and tough as nails. They are my favorite thing going right now.
As far as the Military goes, it's a lot bigger than I envisioned. I figured it was a beefier Endura/Calypso, but I saw one at a store and man, that thing is BIG! If you are looking for a cool production folder, I would take a gander at the Pioneer series from REKAT. For neck knife, look strongly at the EMerson version of Fred Perrin's La Griffe.

I think the Starmate is the natural complement to the Military. Same great steel, great locks, great construction - but totally different approaches in blade geometry and handle style.

Why mess around with those other companies before you've exhausted the Spyderco line?

First of all, you NEED a BladeForums Native.

Then try these:

SOCOM M/A, AFCK, Commander, Sebenza, Sifu and a Civilian.

Then go for a custom. Or vice versa.

And don't forget those autos.

So many knives, so little time & money!

It would seem that you have been bitten bad by the knife BUG! I think the best remedy for this would be a custom knife.
I think Neil, has the right idea. I am not sure of your price range. There are customs to fit most any budget. If you want something under $100, you might want to check out Ray Kirk. He has knives that go for much more, but they start at around $75, I believe. If you want something starting at under $200 you should check out Neil Blackwood's site. He makes some great looking knives. I also have 3 different multi-carry knives available for immediate sell, that are under $200. For $300 and up, the possibilities are just about endless. I personally like Kit Carson's knives. I am not sure at what price range they start though. Which ever you choose, I think custom is the way to go.

Above all, Buy what you like and have fun

I am not sure of your price range, BUT
check out the Microtech SOCOM's and the SpeedTech knives. The SpeedTech also gives you custom options most do not. Nice touch
having your name on your knife!!

Hello lagerman, IMHO your first knife should have been the BM AXIS. Whichever one fits you. I can't believe, no one has mentioned it!

I'm getting a 710BT. That knife looks really good. After that I'm gonna get a 330, and hopefully a 750. That ones really simple/pretty. I've bought a Spyderco "q" for my girlfriend.

*whew* Maybe i should stop... I'm only 18.
