Everyone

I sent a balisong to Robert Hankins over almost 1 1/2 yrs ago and he never returned it. I have been back from deployment and need to get in contact with him because he has a balisong I sent for a tune up and I want it back. I do not know if he is still making knives or not but I really need to get in contact with him. He once had a website but now it is gone. Does anybody have any type of contact email, website, or number that I can start with? Is he still making knives? I would greatly appreciate it.

First, I moved this from General Knife to FEEDBACK. Now let me see what I can find on him. I do hope we can help you.

It looks like he hasn't been around since June 2007. His website at http://www.urbansteelknives.com/ hasn't been updated since 05/27/06 and has been abandoned. I will try to email you further.

Here is the Email I replied with:

Robert
Your blade came back to me around the same period we were having some serious issues with my son.
He died and we did move to Georgia and back since then. Yes I have your blade if I can find it I will fix it...No later than June1st 2009. or I will replace it with a better one by June 15th 2009. If I do need to replace it would you rather have a Bali or a Lockback folder?
Just recently have been able to get the shop running and back into practice again.
Please accept my appology.

Condolences from Texas, I cant even begin to imagine what your going through.

Very good to hear your getting back to work, sometimes its the best therapy. I've worked with many of your knives and was always impressed.

Thanks for the kind words. it has been three years this past month and still feels like yesterday sometimes.
Talked to Partial this morning and we are back on track for his blade. Will make it good.
Take Care
Robert

Robert,

I am extremely saddened to read about your boy. Losing a child is the very worst. As a parent nothing compares to that pain. I am saying prayers for you and yours as I write this.

I am also pleased to see your kind offer accommodations for Partial Serrations. All the best to you all.

Blessings,

Anthony
