I Need To Get Something Off My Chest...

Dear CRK Brothers and Sisters,

I feel like I need to make a confession tonight. This may be upsetting to hear and could quite possibly cause some weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth. Before I proceed to put myself out there--consider this as a fair warning that this may not be for the faint of heart, weak of knees, or lowly in spirit. I have tried to overcome this "affliction" multiple times and have put forth a good, solid, concerted effort to try and avert having to do this...

I do not love the Mnandi.

There. I said it. It is part of cyberspace. It is out in the universe. You heard, they heard it, we all heard it. You can Love me for being honest, hate me for being truthful, or form an ambivalent opinion, or simply don't care at all. It is what it is and I have said what I came here to say.

I don't love it either. It's a nice knife but not the 'end all, be all' of the gentleman's swag category, imo. It's a real shame the folks down at CRK changed the nail nick--I find that one-hand deployment is very doable but feels slightly awkward and clumsy. I also opted for a premium wood inlay (the Box Elder Burl) and it's very nice. Almost too perfect though (both in look and feel) if that makes any sense; it could be some kind of acrylic and I'd never know. :o I much prefer the wood scales on my Chambriard...

Nevertheless, I like the Mnandi. I just don't love it. :p

Well, I love the Mnandi for several reasons, the most important for me is being able to have a cutting tool when I need it in a social situation. I don't like to draw the attention that a larger folder would draw around people, it's basically a liner-locked, slip-joint sized folder with the most beautiful lines ever. I also love the Mnandi because it's fantastically well built and strong enough to get the job (for a folder of this size) done. Another reason why I love the Mnandi is because of all the different flavors that it comes in ( My favorite being Mammoth Bark with Damascus).

Like any other folder out there, the Mnandi is not for everyone but for the mission assigned to this little beauty, it excels in every way (IMHO). I love it when women think it's cute or when guys think it's Nice (rather than getting those suspicious stares).

Yes, it is.

. . . or more. My B7-FT EDC has a 3" blade (7" overall) and weighs in at 1.6 ounces. That's just about perfect for someone like me who prefers deep pocket carry.

I really do like the lines of the Mnandi. I'd love it if CRK made a slightly larger version. After all, if they can make two sizes of Sebenzas, why not two sizes of Mnandis?

That is light for a 3"... my small CF 21 is 2.4 oz with full backspacer and deep carry clip. Under 2 would feel featherweight, like my buddies Benchmade 530 crazy light.

A large Mnandi and a medium Sebenza would be really cool.

Imagine if the Small 21 and Mnandi had a baby. Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy! Now who's coming with me? Jan?

Me either. As nice as it is.. it's just not for me.

I prefer my gentlemanly Spyderco knives...

Love my Large Sebenza though.

Because I am a caring and compassionate individual, I didn't feel the need to relegate my Mnandi to the dark and cavernous "knife box"; nor did I desire that she stay warm and dry on my shelf. So, I did the humane thing and sold her on the exchange for a very reasonable price to an excellent buyer by the name of "sk8n" AKA Mike and she is on her way to him as I type this note. Now, I do not personally know Mike, but from our communications he seems to be the type of human that will care for the Mnandi and give her love and attention. I don't want her to feel like a branch without a root. . . See, I am not as ghastly and inhumane as some of you have perceived.

So, on another note--I saw a GORGEOUS Mnandi with beautiful creamy mammoth ivory inlays on the exchange today. . . Wait, what am I saying?

More than happy to take the Mnand off your hands and help a brother.:) You may rest assured that it will find a happy home.
I see you used the funds to secure a Small Regular Sebenza, congratulations!

Absolutely nothing wrong with that!!!!! There are many knives that people are gaga over that I have no affection for. You're normal!!!! Since you've come clean I will too. I think the inlays on the Sebenzas look ridiculous. Like wood panels on a Porsche...

My sentiments exactly, .... a dressed up Mnandi is another matter. But the plain Sebenza is a beautiful and functional tool.

I have it far worse than you do. I do not love the Mnandi either. Worse still . . .

I do not love the Small Sebenza.

Woe is me!!!

Mine is a little bit worse.
I don't love the Mandhi.
I don't love the small 21 sebenza.
I don't love the small regular sebenza.
I don't love the large 21 sebenza.
I don't love the Um, in fact I dislike it.

So far only the large regular has been one I really enjoyed.
The Nyala is one knife that I really do want to try, it looks to be a winner.

Luis--you have officially crossed the line and have taken this thread to the depths of outer darkness.

Will this thread be redeemed if I say I love CRK's leather sheaths, and pouches?

Oh wait!
I love the Exquisite Blade: The legend of Chris reeve.
Think I watched it like 4-5 times.
