guess the RRs haven't changed much since my Dad's times. after an accident on the RR and working like a dog for them, they got their lawyer working on a few guys, and next thing you know they're losing jobs and/or pensions! i was only a kid and he kept a lot of this to himself. you're better off. believe me. nurses at my VA constantly say in the middle of s**t happening, "i wonder if Wal-mart is hiring" and they're not always joking. at least some of the employees there smile on their way into work. as far as knife carry: during the orientation at the V.A. i work at, the V.A. policeman (yes, they're real Fed police not just security walkabouts) mentioned no weapons of any kind. i asked about a pocketknife? NO, nothing at all, sharp, pointy, metal, non-metal, What about a kubotan? NO, nothing that can be turned into a weapon...then i held up a bic pen (the cheap pointy kinds) and said, then why are we all walking around with these things? no one was amused (sheeple again). they already had my fingerprints that morning, SSN, and then you sign an oath to uphold the laws of the U.S. and to not violate said laws or something like that...i left it all alone, cause i sure don't want anyone thinking that i may have a little neck knife or anything. that would be it for me. these guys ticket employees pulling into the parking lot all the time, and being on fed property the fines and points on your license are not worth it. being seen with a "weapon" will definitely ruin your career there! i feel for ya, guy! but you are better off and i'll wager (seeing you as being a spiritual person) that you can sleep better at night. someday, i'll be able to say the same..
