I only like CRK's now...

Hey CRK folks, I really have a big problem. I'm really quite serious about this. Ever since I bought my first CRK knife, then two of them, now three, I find myself only carrying and using CRK knives. I have quite a few Microtechs, Pirahnas, Spydercos, Emersons, Benchmades, a Camillus Cuda Damascus, etc... All these that I've loved for years, especially my Microtechs, have lost my interest ever since I've had my CRK's. And a few of these I even acquired just recently, right before I bought my first CRK, my large 21 CG. Now I look at them... and want them to be CRK's instead. :(

I've never had this happen to me before and never addressed it until now.

Have any of you had this happen to you? What did you do about it?

Thanks, guys and girls. :)

Hilarious! I am sure that this is a very familiar story in this forum. I know it is my story. I think this is why we have an exchange here; so everyone can offload any non CRK. :D.

I've noticed that after I got my CRK, which is the perfect EDC imo, when i surf around the web looking at knifes nothing else quite cut it.. I see a nice looking(non CRK) knife, read about it, look at some tubevideos and the same thing happens everytime; they are just not good enough and are always missing something that the sebenza has..

- The looks
- Ease of maintenace and simplicity of the same
- Construction of action
- One handed opening
- Materials
- Custom service
- Fit & finnish
- Time proven design/construction
- The looks again...

What to do about it? I dunno, personally I'm just glad I'm really happy with this knife which saves my money for other things..

Yeah, the only knives I have now that I really enjoy are CRKs. I love looking at and would like to own custom knives like a Shiro, a Lochsa, or Michael Raymond, but they are just way out of my price point. And if I got one, I probably wouldn't carry it.

I'm with you socom1970. I carry CRK exclusively and don't even own anything else anymore. There's something about them that nothing else has it can compare to for the price. I'd love a Scott Cook Lochsa too but i could never bring myself to carry it.

Welcome to the club...

Crk killed my list for knives. Because every knife I handle, i now compare toy sebbies.

CRK makes a fantastic knife in a refined yet practical package. And while I love my 21 (and want a small), I've learned never to swear off anything. I'm a fan of variety and options.

Years of carrying traditional pocket knives made me unaware of locking folders. This past February a YouTube acquaintance deep into the knife hobby suggested a list of classic locking knives I might start with. At the end of his note was, "or just skip all those $175 to $300 knives and buy a large Sebenza 21." I've bought the "cheap" knives he suggested, but I'm counting on buying a CRK at Blade Show 2015. The rest of the list may never happen.

My Large Sebenza 21 UG, and mu Umnumzaan are the top dogs in my collection, but I still enjoy my ZT's, Emersons, etc. I do like variety, but if I had to liquidate it all, my CRK's would be the ones I would not let go.

Give it some time and you may find yourself appreciating other knives again as well. Maybe just on a different level than your CRK's.

Yes, happened to me. I may carry something else for about a week total every year or so but most of that time I still have the CRK in another pocket.
What did I do about it, bought more CRK's 😃

I love my CRK's but I must say lately I am pretty fond of what ZT has been offering up. I go back and forth between the 2.

Don't just sell off the other knives you own any time soon. Try not to compare other knives to CRK, or replace you current attire to cargo pants, they have more pockets :)
I've kept a few of my starter knives just to have around. Every once in a great while, I'll carry one. I usually carry two knives daily, a CRK and a Strider. The others have to wait their turn.
Before long, your friends are gonna start calling you a knife snob. I hope you can live with that.

I buy more expensive knives while keeping a few CRK's. The problem CRK does to you is make you compare other knives to them. CRK sets a standard and all other knives have to meet that standard otherwise you feel the knife is not good enough.

I have been thinking of the new ZT 452 since I handled one last week, mostly due to the size and it being a little more people friendly than a large 21. On the other hand, I have yet to handle a small seb, so I don't know if I should hold off on the 452 in chance of finding a small micarta insingo on the exchange...
