I ordered a Hideaway knife and . .

I'm aware of that, but I thought that it was a woman that went by the name of Frontsite that actually owned it, and then later William took it over.

William has been a partner since the beginning. Front Sight had a melt-down for a variety of reasons, including the loss of someone very close to her, William doesn't have that as an excuse and he could have stepped-up. He didn't help to get the original knifemakers of HAK paid either.

I had dealings with Hideaway for a couple of years. Since Oct 2009 the service got very bad, I still have an open order of US$ 150. The ordered knife never arrived, emails are not answered. I filed a complaint with Pay Pal - to now avail.

Their knives are really cool but the company behind (William?) is not to be trusted. Don't send them money!

HAK seems to be a lot like Strider, in that if you're not a regular member on USN, you can go to hell as far as they're concerned. An odd customer service philosophy, but it must be working okay for them.

I don't believe you have a clue what you're talking about here. This thread is about HAK and their scumbaggery ways, not other forums(or, this one, either, as a matter of fact). HAK has a long history of screwing people over. Anybody ordering from them, pretty much deserves whatever they get(or, don't get, in most cases, it seems). All a person has to do, is search the various forums and read all the negative reports about HAK.

Have things improved with thier partnership with Fenix Outfitters? I had one a while back (post 2008) it was the style I ordered but not the finish. The sheaths sucked. But my exwife wanted it more than I did. I was thinking about geting one of the entry level knives since I really do not want to risk a few hundered dollars on a maybe especially if it is a standard production knife and not a custom grind.
