I owe a lot of money to a loan snark!

Not even gonna ask.

...and you know this how?

That chopper is something else, WW. I vote for a carbon fiber (to match the scales) sheath carried baldric style. Or just use and old hose slit lengthwise and shove it in your pocket ;).

Quit wearing tacos for shoes.

Im sure we have all been to taco bell. I have regrettably. And after i took of my shoes i got a whiff of taco bell... Not good LOL

Granite thats a great idea about the carbon fiber baldric sheath!! This knife is a little too big just to throw on my belt.

Thank you daizee! Got that little nub made for my LHR and it works well. New grinder does a good job on micarta using a 120 grit belt and a VERY light touch. I called Sears today, though, as I don't feel that the wheels of this grinder are within spec for being "in plane" with one another. If I adjust the tracking jib screw so the belt is seated on the drive wheel, there's more than 3/8" of belt hanging off the tension wheel. I'm trying to find the adjustment for that, I know there's gotta be one.....

Not too hard to see the piece I made ;). Kinda cool, it retains the knife so that only the wearer can release it from the sheath.

update: I think I just found the adjustment for getting the wheels to line up....

Damn WW, hows it chop though ?

I split a couple small logs i had with ease, but i dont have any other wood here i can chop to really test it out yet.

It slices cardboard like a thin sword though, it makes this sweet hissing sound as it goes through the cardboard and i love it HAHA

But at just over 2 pounds (935 grams) you know your swinging it. And One thing i have noticed is, there isnt any finger guard so I have to be careful... this thing is a razor for real, if my hand slips up i could loose a finger or 2. There is enough curve as long as im paying attention its no problem though, but i will be using a good safety lanyard just in case.

sweet! glad that worked out.
that micarta will get much darker if you sand it to 360+.

Thanks again. I still can't get the wheels in plane with one another. My bandsaw has some adjustments that do this; this grinder doesn't seem to....does this look normal to you?

The belt is tracking fine, just seems like too much of it hanging off the tension wheel....

i still see his scales for sale on the river some nice combo wood ones up last i saw. and tacobell feet means yo need too see adr for that bromadrous (i bet that the wrong spelling for the foot smelling)!!

Hey I know what you have to do, I kinda had the same issue. My frame was assembled crooked. I had to losen up two screws and twist the frame while tightening the screws back. Maybe run your machine and twist the upper arm left and right see if that works.
