  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

I own it / I like it / So there

CRKT First Strike.

Actually I have two, the medium sized one I use and the large one I will display when I get around to buying a nice stand. Only AUS-6 and not too sharp when new, but I just love the design and look of them. One of my all-time favourites!

I have a couple that fit this categorey.

1. The Spyderco Toad doesn't have super steel (AUS-8) and some would call it ugly but I love the little Toad. Super sheeple friendly and the thin blade takes a razor blade type edge. A great little knife for light duty edc.
2. I know a lot of people don't care for CRKT but I really like the small Wasp. It's a very nice looking little knife with good steel (AUS-118) that takes an outstanding edge and holds it well. Very lightweight w/titanium frame, G-10 scales, and a very nice fit and finish.

I own a Strider SMF. I don't like Mick Strider due to other issues, but for some reason I love the darn knife. Same goes with some of the Cold Steel stuff I own. CS is pretty hated by alot of people.

My shame would be the Gerber profile fixed blade with Gerber mystery steel ( however it is a self defense knife only so steel is not that important to me ). It's ugly but it's great for a slim hideaway knife once I got rid of the crappy sheath.

I'll chime in with another vote for the SS Copperlock (mine's orange G-10.... so bad.... ;) ). Matter of fact, I think I'll put it in my pocket when I get home.

Another is my Case hawkbill pruner. Nasty brown Delrin handles, SS blade. Pure utility, great for cutting rope, bags, boxes. Awful for anything else, especially food prep.

That Spyderco Toad reminded me of my BladeTech Tim Wegner Mouse. When I use it around others they make fun of it...Let them use it and they stop laughing. Got one of the early ones in S30V. Damn thing skinned an elk here in New Mexico.

I really like the copperlock in slip joints too. Don't own a Case yet, guess I'll have to buy one.

Love hearing about the lesser known blades and opinions on them.

I'm almost afraid to post this for fear I'll ejected forcibly from the forums,...

I have a United Cutlery Survival Knife called the Little Protector from the 80s

It's has a hollow nylon handle, a working compass, and a 3 inch (or so) carbon steel blade. I've carried it for years in my fanny pack alonng with an SAK rucksack and various Beckers, Ontarios and SOGs.

I once used it as a handle to jack up my Toyota when I couldn't find the Jack handle.

:o I know, wierd.

ok let me try.
I've got a small CRKT Gray Ghost with an AUS8 PE Warncliff blade I bought years ago. I've been EDCing it for about a month now and I really like it. The blade design, steel and lock up are all excellent.
It's a keeper.

that D'Alton Holder is cool (and discontinued too) - nothing to be ashamed of!

As for me, I got that chinese puukko

attention! ruler is in centimeters
and it is just perfect for a price: 440A, beech handle, cordura sheath - $11

I have a Gerber Pro-Scout multi-tool that has never let me down and has never failed to perform as expected.
And the flick-of-the-wrist pliers is a neat feature.

I admit that it's not near as nice as my SwissTool, or even my Leatherman Super Tool, but it is handy none the less.

That would have to be my Bear MGC Prof. Lockback w/ rosewood handle. Picked it up in shop in West Yellowstone for about $30 on sale, no regrets. Basically a Buck 112 knockoff, but made well enough. I know some folks sneer at this brand, but I bought it and I like it!

Off hand, mine has to be the Benchmade Ambush. Despite its supposed shortcomings (blades steel: AUS-8, made in another country, rolling lock) it has served well in regular EDC; been thinking of getting another.

My Surefire Alpha, People say I paid too much and have even called it a monstrousity, but I like it, it fits my hand well and I think it looks cool.

This is a great Thread!

I'll take the opportunity to say this while I'm here - just cause a knife costs more $$ does not necessarily mean it is better.

What matters is that it meets your needs, and you dig it
