I keep spending money on them.

I don't need them.

Other people are uncomfortable around them.

They add nothing of value to my life.

Chances are, one day I would seriously hurt myself with them.

Besides, now I have more money for knives.

Very nobel decision.
I wish you the best of luck kicking the habit.

Good for you!

If I'd kept smoking, I'd probably only have one knife (just writing this sentence scared me ).

Good for you! Did that a long time ago. First few days were rough. It gets easier.

Good decision.
I had motivation on my side, when my wife confirmed she was pregnant the 1st time around.
I had already only smoked a pack a week at that point.
Now every time I smell them I just think is stinks of death.

I was also at about a pack a week. 4-5 a day. It's been just under a week now since I've had any nicotine in my system, and I forgot what it was like to not feel awful all the time.

Also, that things had so much more scent and flavor.

I just spit coffee on myself.

Stay strong Comeuppance. You've got my support.

Been down that road before and 6 months later I feel off. Unfortanately for my wallet im a pack a day. Your post is a motivator to get off my a$$. I'm going to go at it again this week.

It will be the best decision you ever made. I quit cold turkey in 1985, and have never regretted it.

I did it raw hide also. Keep at it, it gets easier to handle, then it becomes normal. Good luck to you.

Love it! Great post, put it out there and you will live up to it! Besides the knives will last longer!

Good for you!

This is a much more positive thread than I had anticipated. Thought it was going to be about quitting knives or some such nonsense.

Great pic.
Good luck to you, it's a worthy cause you've started- everybody needs more knife money and living longer healthier to enjoy the fine things in your life is a plus too :)

Just the other day my Wife hit 7 years of being a non smoker, she quit cold turkey after finding out we were expecting our first kid. Now I enjoy watching her reaction to others that smoke :)
Celebrate the victories, 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, etc with a gift to yourself, it should help motivate you to get through the slightly tougher times.
