Bought it awhile back and love everything about it. I don't need to go into detail--you folks know exactly everything we love about the Sebenza.

I bought a small Sebenza 21 Insingo w/ Micarta inlays--I love it, but I still like the plain Insingo better.

I bought a small Sebenza 21--I love it, but I still like the Insingo better.

I bought a small Regular Sebenza with a UG--I love it, but I still like the Insingo better.

I bought a small Regular Sebenza with silver hardware and dual thumb lugs--I love it, but I still like the Insingo better.

I bought a couple of custom knives--I love them, but I still like the Insingo better.

I bought a 3" XM-18 w/slicer grind--I love it, but I still like the Insingo better.

Anyone else like the Insingo?

Hi I have small diamond plate sebenza 21 and just wondering if you can tell me why you like plain insingo so much.Is it looks, handling, cutting tasks, or just simplicity of design. It is a nice blade probably perfect for edc tasks and I am thinking to get one as well.

All the same reasons I love the Sebenza in general, but there is just something about the blade shape, the swedge, and the design that just calls to me. . . Sort of like IT chose me!

Man! It is SO HARD not to make a smarmy (in jest) comment based on the NutnFancy review!!!!! But I just have to let it go eventually! So I'll start here! I don't own an Insingo but it's not because I don't want one!!!!! I have so many other interests and expenses that I kind of just limit myself to 2-3 EDC type knives. Guitars still get the majority share of my "fun-money". The Insingo must be some knife though to be preferred over the XM-18 because I am totally addicted to my 3" XM-18!

The small has been my favorite since I got it.

The XM-18 is a fantastic knife, but the simplicity, clean lines, simple maintenance, and ergonomics of the Sebenza just give it a small edge in my opinion.

Why do you like the plain Insingo better than the Micarta?

I had a small micarta insingo and it is very nice. If I were to buy another small insingo, it would probably be the plain jane version. After owning plain jane small and large regulars, I can really appreciate the simplicity and smooth feel of the untouched titanium scales.

While the micarta is very nice in the hand adding bulk and subtracting weight, there is something about the fact that there is double sided tape that holds all the inlays in place that deters me from them. I know that the tape being used is probably never going to come loose and they are basically cemented in place, but it's not the tape failing that bothers me..It's the extra materials that are added to an already simplistically perfect knife which contributes to my preference for the plain jane titanium scales. It's not the materials themselves, its just the fact that there are extra materials at all.

Don't get me wrong, I do love the micarta and exotic inlays, but If I were only going to choose one sebenza, it would be with plain jane titanium scales.

my first and only sebenza so far is the small plain 21 insingo. It was not a decision I took lightly, I look at every combination, including larges and the small plain insingo won out. I looked at micarta and I didn't see any real benefits to it on a small, a large I can but small not so much. Also correct me if I'm wrong but inlay versions can't go back for spa treatments can they?

I absolutely hate the knife....

thats why it spends so much time in my righthand pocket..... Just trying for it to grow on me, and finally understand why everybody else loves this !!!

Nahh
Just a great admirer of the model!
Love it to death:-))

Ps.
I also like the plain janes better than the inlayed ones.

Pps.
Very curious how it'll hold against my soon-to-arrive Ti-Lock

You hit my nail right on the head with that comment. I have never been attracted to the inlaid CRKs for this exact reason. It's the simplicity and clean look of the plain Sebenza that I love... And the stonewashed Ti looks so kick ass!!!!!!

I totally understand where you are coming from... The blade shapes of the CRK knives are just something special.

I love my small Insingo but I could part for it for that 3" XM-18 w/ slicer grind...I mean if you really, really want me to I could do it for you. ;)

Any version can go back for the spa treatment. They can refinish inlaid models.

I agree 100%. Finally got around to putting a clip insert into my small Carbon Fiber 21 and gave it a shot today. Small plain Insingo's going right back into my pocket when I get home.
I scotch brited mine and have a clip insert in, and I don't think I'll ever get bored with it.
Deep sigh...

I forgot that one of my regulars came with a clip insert. Now I'm going to have to try it out. Thanks for reminding me!

I might have to pick up a leather pouch sheath for it if I like the clip insert enough to leave it in.
