I REALLY Like my small plain Sebenza 21 Insingo

Thank you Humblerodent, although I think that you have ruined me lol..The hunt for a small Insingo begins. I have a Sage1 and I feel that it is a good EDC size. The problem is that sometimes the measurements don't quite translate. Now I gotta figure out if I want Micarta or not, can't decide.

I have another request for you--Small Insingo next to your Laconico Slim EDC Framelock--all angles please!

Alrighty. It's not the Slim EDC though, just EDC. I got it before he designed the slim version.

I was just looking at the Small Insingo with or without micarta inlays, for my Birthday. My wife let me choose whichever I liked and I ended up going with a TNK Tanto Umnumzaan. I love this knife, but, I can't stop thing about the Insingo, one reason why I went with the Um was that I thought that the small Sebenza was a bit too small, anyone have comparison pics of the small Insingo , maybe against a Sage? I really shouldn't be asking as this will cause me to loose sleep and seek out an Insingo but, please....
Also to Micarta or not to Micarta....

Beautiful knife by the way...

Hi good friend, mine is small - it's a jewell that works...
Best regards.

A jewel is a most appropriate term. I've yet to own a small Sebenza, but maybe i'll get curious enough to pounce down the road.

Congratulations again!

Note to self; must have mini-cleaver, must polish mini-cleaver's blade, must hold and love mini-cleaver long time.:p

My LH small came in today. Oh I love the blade, and kinda missed plain handles after using inlayed ones only for a while.

I knew Insingo would be an ideal nom-cutter.

I got my 1st insingo last week and after a weekend of use I can honestly say that it will be hard to replace it in my pocket as the edc of choice. I really love the blade shape. Great slicer!

Everyone here, except me, agrees with you. And I only disagree in part. :) Yes, I would like an Insingo, but haven't come up with one yet. I have tried to trade several times...to no avail.
I don't like the small. I've had a small Lignum vitae, a 21, and a snakewood. I only had the 21 for two days before it went out again. It left Idaho in early August so it was REALLY NIB. My hand size is not very large at all, large-size gloves, but I cannot get a full-sized grip on the small.
I don't go around just liking longer blades, but I end up with them nearly all of the time in order that the knife fits my hand. Just about every knife I have runs close to 3.5" blade, with the Spy Militaries of course at 4". The Military is too large, but I like them and PM2's a lot also, 3.3" blade, so they tend to accumulate here.
The small snakewood model comes in tomorrow, and I bought it as I expect to gift it to a relative soon. The plain one was very, very attractive, but I only took it out and held it once or so, and then put it back. I was afraid I might mar it somehow.
I have only three large Sebs right now out of the six or seven that I've had in the last six months. I have trouble refusing them when I see them for trade.
And, so sorry, guys, but I carry my first CRK, my Zaan. I really prefer the Zaan blade design, although I've never tried to pick up a second one. Why do I keep buying large Sebs? Other than they are so nice, so smooth, so easy to manipulate? A disease...that's what!

And to the guys who are putting up the pics in this thread...right on! Excellent pics. Thank you.

My small Insigno is my favorite EDC

Mr. edyleemd. . . Old threads are still GOOD threads! As it stands, the small Insingo is still my EDC nearly every day. Except as of the last week or so I have been carrying a large Plain Jane 21. As long as I have a CRK in my pocket I am GOOD!

After 4 years, I'm STILL trying to decide on whether I really want a small or large Insingo. I was leaning towards the small, but keep going back and forth in my mind. It's not likely that I'll get both. I'm not a CRK collector, but one who always loves a good using knife. I only own two CRKs, a large regular and a Zaan. I really like the Insingo blade shape; it looks like it offers greater leverage for the types of cutting chores I generally do, than does the regular Seb.

BTW, I also like the plain titanium scales. And I really don't mind it when scratches through normal carry and use do appear.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with any insingo:

I'm partial to the micarta inlays, but sometimes a plain Jane is just what the doctor ordered – everything you need; nothing you don't.

Adam

Well, I finally did buy my plain jane small Insingo, and this is now my one-handed EDC knife. So far, it's proving to be everything I hoped it would be. I went with the small because it's legal length for pretty much anywhere I would be driving to in CA. Also, it's pretty much all I really need for day to day cutting, though that doesn't mean a L isn't also a future possibility. It's only my third CRK since 2002, and I buy few knives anymore.

I got my first Sebenza about a month ago - a larger lefty 21. I looked at the larges and smalls, both regular and Insingo, micarta and plain. I decided on the large plain regular 21 since it was my first and I figured it was the flagship model. About 2 days later I ordered a small lefty 21 Insingo with micarta inlays. The next day I sent it back because I felt bad about spending that much on knives in the course of a week. Once I sent it back I just couldn't stop thinking about it so I ordered another small lefty Insingo but without any inlays. I kept that one and since I've had it I've only carried my large a handful of times. That small is the perfect size for me, and the Insingo blade shape is perfect for opening boxes and blister packages. I will say that in hind sight I would have kept the micarta version and maybe not got the large at all.
