I reforged old bearing into a knife - Video

Just wanted to show how I make simple knife from an old bearing.

Cool video, I once saw a knife made from 52100, the maker started with a 1" ball bearing, as in a sphere of steel. The maker said it took forever to pound out and claimed 52100 was the toughest material he'd ever forged. Starting with a segment of the bearing race rather than a ball was obviously a huge time saver.
 
Great job, enjoyed the video and nice lookin blade.

Only thing I would say to think about is shaping the brass fittings more before assembly, atleast in my case the heat build up has caused the epoxy to come loose (primarily because I wasnt patient enough).

I always take new sharp gradation 80 belt so it just grind, without lot of heat

I am really amazed becouse of that huge response from You guys.

In general I like recycling - here I changed piece of old saw into a chopper - this is 80crv2 steel which is one mf my favourites :)

What about you guys ? Like to turn old pieces of good quality steel into a knife ? Like files, saws and bearings
 
Trollsky! I love your videos! I have been watching them on Youtube for quite some time! You do some really cool stuff and have really motivated to making knives as a great hobby! Thank you and keep posting!
