I so sorry for being off topic but...

If you shot the guy and he's down and he has that crutch, let him throw his temper tantrum, don't loose more rounds and just let him bleed. When the ParaMedics get there, they can't treat him until he calms down, so you let him bleed until he goes unconscious. Simple as that.

There are some people on forums who would then say, "Well goddamnit! If he won't let EMS treat him 'cause he's swinging a crutch around sittin' on his ass, shoot him again!" :D

I remember when Chesapeake Knife and Tool was up at Harborplace in Murderland, yeah? One of the employees told me that a loonatron went in there and was handed a Cold Steel Magnum Tanto to look at and he wacked himself right across the inside of one wrist or forearm. Baltimore City responded and EMS responded and the could not approach the guy because, well, he had a CS Magnum Tanto in his hand! So, the employee told me they let him hemorrhage until the point where he lost consciousness and then they disarmed him, restrained and treated and transported him.

I just want to see an even playing field and I don't think police should be given special rights, that's all.

If it turns out that he shot this guy while he was grounded and only had a crutch, it's wrong. If someone breaks into your home with a bat and you put him down and then you shoot him when he is down and he cannot get up to attack you again, you're probably going to go away for a few years. Forensic Science is a wonderful thing, they can tell if you were shot while you were on the ground, etc.

I dont know enough to pass judgement about the courtroom shooting but I will say every court house should have a firing range. If someone is sentenced to death they dont deserve luxuries like a last meal.

With this statement, I thought you would be siding with me.

And there you have your real motivation and everyone can see it. You believe in murder and you're just concealing it by calling someone else a "cop hater."

Fighting crime is never done on an even playing field..If they use fists, you use less lethal. If they bring a knife, you bring a gun. If they bring a crutch to the court room, you bring a fully auto M-249 saw and let the police mow him down.

This is getting way off topic..I don't condone murder. Never have. I also don't condone judging a cop before the facts are out. I'll leave it at that.

Now, the bad thing is, if I tell you what you are, I'll be in the wrong. So I won't say it.

Other than that...

Relax, you don't have to have so much sand in your cooter. You're going to get what you want when it is all said and done. So, you don't have to get angry about it. You will get your world where little girls get Tasered in elementary school for throwing a temper tantrum because a grown man can't allow a 9-year old girl to kick him in the shins! Why, that's terrible! (It happened)

You will get the world you want, you shouldn't be so angry about it really. You're on the winning side on this downward slide. You shouldn't be so angry that some people just disagree with you about it. Sore loser and a sore winner to boot.

A squad automatic weapon. Psychotic or teenager, can't figure out which just yet.

If you couldn't read the sarcasm in my last post you must be the one with a little sand in the cooter.

Relax, most cops don't want to taze grandma and tackle 9 year olds. This isn't the world of Judge Dredd. I think you might have gotten a few too many speeding tickets.

Given your attitude, it's entirely possible you think courtroom officers should have a SAW. :)

No, there was a nine year old girl in elementary school who was Tasered because she threw a temper tantrum. Don't know about Judge Dredd but you should look it up. We have a nice taser craze going on for the last few years.

Then there was the elderly woman in New Orleans who got dogpiled because she had a peashooter to defend herself with in the Katrina Aftermath, in her own kitchen.

I think you might have gotten a few too many speeding tickets.

I think you assume too much. I've never had a ticket. Never been arrested. Of course, in your demented world view, anyone that doesn't have the brown stain on their tongue obviously has to be a scofflaw.

A true Keyboard Philosopher.

Spend less time posting and more time out in the real world. It's really not that bad out there!

There has been too many stories lately of Cops with itchy trigger fingers. I live in the Seattle area and we had a Seattle cop shoot and kill a deaf homeless man last August because he was carrying a carving knife.

In other words: Do whatever the cop tells you or you will die!

And the investigators on the scene reported that the knife was closed. Officer lost his job, should be sitting in a cell or awaiting the needle.

Oh please. :jerkit:

If it were you having to make these shoot/no shoot decisions on a daily basis and you accidentally killed someone who shouldn't have been shot then you'd be singing a different tune.

Police officers don't have the luxury of knowing exactly what is going on before they act. They make decisions based on what they know at that exact moment. It isn't an exact science, and sometimes mistakes are made. That's like saying if you caused an accident that resulted in a death that you should be in prison awaiting a needle in your arm. After all, you caused it right?

Edit: This will be my last post on the subject.

I am not going to change the way I believe but I have to offer an apology to the forum in general because I shouldn't have even posted to the thread to start with. I know it's a clusterfuck just from the start of the story being told and I know how it is going to end up. As DH1 pointed out earlier, it's always this way, and that's that. There is no changing it.

Ya got a good point there, my friend. Can't disagree with that at all.

Very true.

Hadn't thought about just letting him bleed until he calmed down, either. That's decent tactics.

I wonder if this is a case like the cop-chick who was holding the guy at gunpoint on the ground, and accidentally let loose a round that just luckily missed him. Cop in this case could have been approaching, got excited, put a little too much pressure on the trigger, and BOOM!

So it's not cool for a cop to shoot an offender, but let one bleed out without rendering aid and your cool with that. Awesome.

Personally I don't know what the truth is to this whole thing so no sense in debating it until the truth is known. Lighten up guys. Mike posted this more as an "Alabama joke" than to stir such emotion with all that heart just thumping away on your sleeve. Damn.

Guys I just thought it was a humorous story (maybe a bit macabe) hence my comments about the ticket booth in front of the court house. I try to look at the 'lighter side' of situations. No harm done here. Let's leave these Alabama rednecks to their own style of justice and move on to a good knife story. I like knives. Mike
