I sold mine after I met Chris Reeve in person at Blade '11. Those 5 minutes or so meeting him were enough to know I didn't want any of my money going to him anymore, or having his name on anything of mine.

I have had nothing but positive customer service from Chris Reeve. must of had a bad day. I get like that sometimes. LOL
 
To be honest I would rather not get involved in an argument as it seems everyone is ready to get defensive. His wife and son are very nice and accommodating. Thats is the extent of the good experience i had.

No one is getting defensive. I have yet to hear why someone would not like CRK products, other than their price. You can't just say what you said and not expect to explain it...

Thats your prerogative man.I wouldn't say everyone is ready to get defensive, its just when someone makes a statement like that curiosity is peaked, especially from fans of the mans work.

Kind of a tease of sorts...
 
Would you rather me delete my comments? When people spend as much as they do on knives like a Sebenza, they do not like to hear people bad mouth them. I like his folders. They are great knives. Our personalities did not match. I found him condescending and rash, almost as if he thought I was unworthy of owning his products.

Edit: Yes I am a gold member trolling. I am not here to start shit but I will not be accused of stupid nonsense either.
 
Doesn't really sound like trolling to me. He's not badmouthing the product, not really even badmouthing the man, just saying he didn't care for him. There are a few big name makers that have done/said things I didn't agree with and because of this I'll look at other manufacturers. Doesn't mean they don't make a good product.
 
Maybe he was in a bad mood, who knows? I read on another forum that Chris found someone selling fake Sebenzas at BLADE this year and he stormed off to confront him.

Right. I was just curious to know what cktenders experience with Chris was is all. I feel the same way about Anthony Marfione.

I would not take Tuf's and my posts negative at all. I posted in your thread because it is interesting. Thank you for this thread. I have heard from 2 others that have sent knives to CRK that have had problems with their knives after being spa'd, and they wanted to talk with Chris. Well they did and they did not say anything nice about their conversation. I have never talked or met with Chris, no reason too actually. I have only spoke to Heather about my orders, and I am for a lost of words with the awesome service and commmunication she has provided.. As said in the prior posts, everyone does have a bad day here and there. I do on occassion, but I do not bring it to work with me.

Hmm, sounds like Chris shot himself in the foot by alienating his own customer. Though perhaps he merely disagreed with something you might have brought up about how you use your knives or perhaps your specific preference about knives? Sounds about the #1 reason why I might have any beef with anyone regarding knives. I have a tendency to berate those who use their knives in a manner which I see as abusive(cutting on a glass cutting board, cutting on ceramic plates, using a knife as a screwdriver, etc.).

Still, for me, it's like the whole drama fair with Mick Strider(or Burger) and his knives. For me, I'm less emotionally attached to the person who made the knife and would rather observe the knife itself. No offense to Phil Wilson who made a knife for me;). It's a damn good knife:thumbup:.

Well yes to me it looks like trolling. You may not have meant it to be but when you say something inflammatory without saying what it is, even after being asked, it looks like you are taking a shot. Did he kick your dog or insult your wife or something?

I don't know Chris Reeve from the man on the moon but you made a harsh statement against him on a public forum and I do think you should explain it. If you don't like the guy that is cool. Not everyone can like everyone. It sounds like it's possible he didn't like you either. I'm sure he loves you now :D

The OP was asking why so many Sebenzas are for sale. I don't know the answer to the question. Do you think it is because people don't like Chris Reeve?

It is a reasonable question. I suppose there as many reasons why Sebenzas are for sale as there are Sebenzas for sale. Why is anything for sale? They want to use the money for something else? I don't know.

But I do think it unfair to lay something like that out there and not explain it. It wouldn't be fair if someone did it to you either. You want people to think the worst and you have some motivation for doing so. I don't know what that is either. If you told us we would know and be able to make up our own minds. But for whatever reason you don't want that.

So trolling is not an unfair opinion with what you have given us.
