Hello,

Just wanted to let you guys know I like Strider knives and wanted to start a nice discussion. I guess I didnt start in the right way.
Sorry about that.

Wow... You guys are irritated fast.... I'm just saying Strider Knives are the best. No need to get upset.

You are correct, you didn't start this the right way. Nothing wrong with saying you like something, we all have our favorites. However, you need to tell WHY you like them... Have you owned one ? Have you ever handled one ? If yes to either or both, that adds credibility to your statement.
Perhaps you can elaborate and tell us what you compare them to. The best knives in the world ? You can't be serious. People that collect custom knives that cost thousands of dollars, would be hard pressed to call one of their knives, " The Best in the world ".

When you come here and make a bold statement like your, you are automatically clumped into a "special group " ...

I know what you mean, but I must admit that I am anxious to find out how it is done so that I can try it. :D
I dont see how could 150bucks quality knives but actually sold at 425$ be the best knives in the world

Mokeyman666, do you have your official Strider SMF forearm tattoo yet?

He probably hasn't had it two weeks yet...that's the amount of time you have to have the knife before you can tattoo it on your forearm.

Just a reminder, gentlemen: this is the General Knife Discussion. If you really need to discuss people you don't like, take it to FEEDBACK. If you really want to vent, take it to Whine & Cheese. Keep the trolling out of General Knife.

Is this the first thread about a brand of knives to reach page 3 and not have a single pic posted, record breaking.

Well, the thread started out with a person's name in the subject line - maybe it should be locked or moved now for that reason alone.

These bash threads bore me in General Knife Discussion anyway - regardless of the reasoning behind them . . . I'm not learning a thing here . . . :)

I kind of like my Strider Karambit (the larger one; not sure of the code - bought a long time ago); but I'm not fond of any of the others. Too thick to do finer cuts (I think that's why they are so "tough"); stainless steel (even if it is premium)...not worth it to me. Plus, IMHO they have all the masculinity of Rosie O'Donnell (which is, of course, a personal style thing; so it's not really relevant to the thread).

I don't know...I know people like them; but there are so many other knives out there that are as strong but with better geometry; much better looking; and a lot less money. So why bother?

A little post-script....I've got a John Gage Tactical Gladius - absolutely beautiful weapon, well balanced, excellent sword steel. Looks and feels great, nice edge, not overly thick. ~ $1K. At Blade Show 2010 I saw a custom Strider Gladius....looked fine; shorter than the Gage...but, S30V, thicker, and $2K.

Like I said....why bother?

It would be fair to say that I am not a fan of Mick Strider the person, however I have a few Strider knives and the truth is that they are pretty darn good folders. They are solid and meant to be used.

It's one thing to say that you don't like the design or ergos or shape of the blade etc etc but you sound like you have never held one.
