I think I’m done with my Sebenza

In my experience it seems as though CRK has always prioritized ease of maintenance over outright edge holding.

I've always been ok with that and have bought a number of their knives. But, as said above by Dcdavis Dcdavis its not for everyone.

I had always wondered if the convex edge is what was making sharpening on the rods unsuccessful.
think that in reality, if you use the spyderco sharpening system, it makes the edge convex if done as per instructions (30 ° - 40 °), adding the stroping makes the edge curved.
you do it without wanting to😬

Which is the way it should be.

What are the chances CRK got a bad batch of heat treated S45VN blades? My S35VN holds a sharp edge for quite some time, I’m like DC and maybe sharpen them once a month or two months, something doesn’t seem right here. I’ve also sharpened them many times to get rid of the convex grind and have a straight V 20 degree edge, much better for everyday work.

Sorry to hear that. Just out of curiosity, what's the birthdate on your s45vn CRK?

Got photos?
