I think I encountered my first scammer

One man's flippant remark steps on another man's bread and butter. Why weren't you taking it seriously?

Response is a reflex, don't let it worry you.

Don Hanson sent me a 40lb box of steel on wednesday and i received it on friday. But then it is hard to lose a big box of steel and much easier to lose a letter.

Actually, I got an account because I wanted to see some pics of Tom Krein's famed FF regrinds, specifically an Endura 4 in ZDP-189. But no, I am not a scammer, and I apologize if I'm coming off as one. I did indeed send off the MO on the 7th, and I can only guess as to why it hasn't arrived yet.

I received his MO. I got nervous at the P.O. because the machine wouldn't accept it and it took about 5 minutes to get it sorted out, but it got cashed. Castigar's Manix was mailed out and is there according to the DC#. I sent him an email explaining why I came to the conclusions I did, and apologizing to him. I hope he's happy with his knife. I'm glad that I can still say I haven't had a single deal on this site go bad.

Castigar, if you're interested in Krein's regrinds, I have a knife you might like to try out. I'll send you an email about it.

I'm actually close friends with the guy in question. He's a new knife afi (after a mutual friend of ours got him interested in spydies), and registered an account to respond for the manix for sale (he found out about it because our mutual friend and I both have accounts).

For what it's worth, Vivi, I can verify that the MO is in the mail. It's probably just being slow getting through the system.

Hope he stays. I should of tried contacting him instead of posting this. If he'd like I'll help him get a Gold Membership here.

Seems like a lot of mail is slow these days. Both my tax return and Spyderco catalog took a week or two longer than I expected.

It sounds to me as if you're not getting enough ketchup in your diet. Ketchup has natural mellowing agents that help people relax and avoid embarrassing premature panic. Ask your doctor about ketchup.

I realize that vivi has apologized but that still doesn't remove this thread.

Is it at all possible for either vivi or the mods to delete this thread, because it truly was not the fault of Castigar.

I just think he is owed that as well.

take care

mods dont typically delete threads.

what vivi could do is edit out all the content in his posts, thereby eliminating the allegations.

One of the (many) reasons we don't delete threads in TGB&U is so when the same person makes another accusation his previous accusations and their outcomes are still on record and accessible to all.

If Vivi has any class, he will add a post-script to his original post explaining that he was wrong about everything that Castigar turned out to be just fine. That should be added as a post-script to the original post so that anyone finding the original post will immediately see it.

It's best if this thread is left just the way it is. That way people get to see what happened, and they can see how things were handled by both parties involved.

Faithfull followers of this thread will notice that Mr. Vivi has demonstrated considerable class by adding the aforementioned postscript to his original post confessing his error and appologizing to Mr. Castigar.
