I Think I Found Something!!

Mace,
They got Guido last week. We'll have to send Vinny Bag-a-Donuts instead.:)

Justin,
How much do you want. I'm glad to put it aside for you.

Don,
Nice to hear from you. I'll be expecting it.

Page,
Got your E-Mail. This will be the perfect size for the way you swing a hammer.:)

Aldo

Man I just sent you a check today and now this...

I LOVE 1095. Stuff works so nice under the hammer, heat treats great, produces gorgeous hamons, holds an awesome edge... Dammit Aldo!

Ray,

I don't need to temp you. I figure to give you a week or two. After a few guys show this stuff off after they get done with it, you'll just find yourself calling me one day.

Waiting Patiently,

Aldo

Could you please set aside 100 pounds for me? It'll probably be a few months before I have any money.

Okay, I ordered 1084, but only like 20 pounds. Which was really really dumb, but I hadn't done any forging yet. (talk about spoiled, I did a 5160 piece, and messed with some rebar, but all my real forging has been on that 1084)

So this time, I don't want to be dumb. On the other hand, I don't exactly have a power hammer. Geez, am I gonna be sore.

I'm in for 72# plus or minus a stick or three. Week or so on dinero okay?

-Christof (who is gonna push back joining the ABS one more month because of this addiction)

Just get it hot and hit it with a bigger hammer :D

I use a 3 kilo Peddinghaus straight pein when I really want to make metal move, it works! With a little practice you can swing it for a couple hours. Not quite a powerhammer, but it does make the big steel managable

I have a housemate who wants to help, maybe we can do the holder/hammer bit for some of it. Or I can get a forge vise.

Guys, This steel is not so big you can't hammer it by hand. Just needs a few extra whacks...thats all.;)
Mace:D

Hey Aldo,
Got the steel, it's beautiful! Thanks!
Now I just need 1 1/2 inch wide L6 to weld up to it!

I'll post pics when I've made something out of it
