I think I have a problem

I've found that maintaining watchlists at various sites has helped me by providing a cool down period of sorts. It's been interesting to look back at knives I thought I wanted only to be happy that I didn't "flick the blade" (pull the trigger). YMMV

It never works out that way. If you want a cheaper hobby: buy a boat or a motorhome! 🤣

I didn't recall sayin' nuthin' 'bout anything "working out". In fact, I know that either one of these methods will still leave you chasing "perfection". The call, as they say, is coming from inside the house.

On a serious note, not being able to actually get a knife in your hand before you buy makes it a little hard I think. If you're lucky maybe you live close to one of the big knife stores. For the rest of us you're buying just from internet pics and reviews. Sometimes they just don't feel good, or as good as you thought they were going to in hand.

I don't buy that many knives, and I have a pretty good idea of what I like. It's just when I get one, and I find something not exactly the way I want, it's back to the drawing board. I have one more on order that I'm waiting for. Fingers crossed that will be THE ONE.
