I've been keeping an eye out for a proper gent's knife for a while now. You know the type, slim with nacre covers. I have a swayback in mammoth, but there's just something about pearl.
Unfortunately most of the patterns that tend to sport MOP do nothing for me. Cigar pens, lobsters, tuxedos...meh. Too small and dainty for my tastes. In the case of the lobster, too weird looking. It seemed that I wanted a knife that didn't exist.
I despaired of ever finding my pearl beauty. If I was going to get something that I actually liked, it appeared that I needed to go the custom route. Not really a problem, except for the fact that I'm largely past lusting over custom slipjoints.
Friday night I had trouble falling asleep. Instead of laying in bed tossing and turning, I decided to do something productive with my time, namely looking at knives.
A good thing too, because a few minutes after I turned on the computer I came across this.

A 3.5" serpentine, with carbon steel blades and genuine MOP covers. There's the knife I've been looking for!
This made it a no brainer.

What other proof do I need that this knife was meant for me? It's clearly marked with my name for all the world to see.
I won't have this knife in my hand for a few days yet. I'll take more pictures and share my thoughts when I receive it.
