I Think the Becker line should have another .25'' addition

No need to be sarcastic. We can't talk about it until it actually exists. If you would prefer, we just won't say anything and you can find out when they release.

Makes no difference to me.

Woah buddy that was just a joke..... didnt think id get my head bit off for it...... obviously others understood it was a joke too.

I know you cant reveal stuff before its time and i was only kidding..... sorry if it was taken another way-

I thought they should have made other 1/4" thick blades too. I got tired of waiting & bought other brands. If BK&T does make other 1/4" thick blades, we will just have to see how they compare. Standards are all ready set high with their current line.

I really would love to see a "stretched" nine in 1/4 inch and an inch longer. I know it's not a possibility, but can you imagine the chopper that would be?

Honestly, in all seriousness, I think I would prefer that. The waiting is the hardest part.

My apologies, I was mistaken.

No worries, i see how it could be mistaken for sarcasm... I still got love for the Moose man... except that nasty finger of yours :)

I'd love to see a big 1/4"-3/8" BK.. maybe a 10"-12" BK9 style...

I do like FFG 1/4" blades. I recently had Justin Gingrich customize an RD9 for me. He basically chopped it down to a drop point style blade shape like what's on the AFGHAN knife.

Actually that's kind of what I told him I was going for... a longer version of the AFGHAN with a pommel. He made it happen... and it's pretty awesome. I know it's not a Becker... but it'll hold me over pretty well until that comes. Only charged me $50 for all the work too.

The first and only Becker I had for about a year and a half was the BK2 (add a 14 to mix somewhere in there). During that time I had incorrectly assumed that ALL big BK's were the same thickness as the BK2. Imagine my surprise when my BK9 showed up last spring. It was good surprise tho. IMO it would be too heavy and not as nimble and well balanced with a thicker blade. The only mod that I did was shave off that pesky thumb ramp and now the feel is perfect for me...

Yep. He redid the Ranger Knives logo and added the GTi logo. He said he doesn't normally add the GTi logo to customized knives, just custom shop production, but he would if I wanted it... I asked him to do it.

Here's what we did: Start off with Ranger RD9 - cut blade to be a drop point design with a similar shape to the AFGHAN. took the jimping off the ramp(also like the AFGHAN), recontoured the grips for better ergo's... re coat the blade and add his logos. make a kydex sheath.

I was really surprised at how great the ergos are with just subtle changes justin made. I'm digging the blade a lot. It's very similar in size to the BK7, which is one of my other favorite blades... so no surprise, there. The 1/4" blade doesn't feel that big. The blade feels very nimble with it's FFG. I'm really happy with it..

Here are a few pics with the BK7 I took real quick:

probably more like 3/8 ths ;)

or maybe i was drinking too much of Ethan's shine that nite.

oh wait, i think we're not supposed to tell :)

yeah.

nevermind

You guys are a bunch of teases. :)

Actually, the BK9 cuts better than my other favorite, the SP50. I think it is because the BK9 is thinner and the grind is thinner. I still love the 1/4" blades as they really are tanks!

I guess you guys can't give out any more info...not even some generalities...

I think the 9 is good to go AS IS. Why all the fuss over a 9" bladed piece of perfection? Listen.....I don't have one, or the money to buy, or close friends with money to take pity on me..to give me one, or the wife who understands me well enough to...... You know what....Eff it!!

The 9er wasn't even on my list to get until this thread. Now it is.......And I aint gonna change or wish a damn thing different about it.

All Hail the King!!

Ethan you did a fine job on the king
