I dabble in alot of things, sometimes knives but mostly spurs. I am working on a small EDC pattern with good results. I have some knowledge to offer, but I mainly read and learn. I have included some "messy" shop pics.

Wish me luck,

Matt Wheaton

Nice tools Matt, what part of Eastern OK? I used to live and work out of Poteau, OK. Would go to FT Smith to have fun.

Lol... what is that? a 900# or 1500# flange? I love it, but then I'm an engineer...

Exactly what part of Eastern OK are you located in?

Will. I live in Ft. Gibson, Tranasplanted from Stillwater. I am a little nervous surrounding by some fine makers. I only do this once in a while with spurs being my passion. Here is a less than perfect pic of my edc design:

Spur maker turned bladesmith. So did you make Bits as well? always waneted to try a set of sprus, may have to do that soon as I get caught up.

Matt you know all those guys just down the road will all help you when you have any questions. Ray Kirk has got to be one of the most helpful people you could ever ask for. I think you have seen most of the guys from theknifegroup so all you have to do is ask.

To be honest, I seem to have a bit more freedom with surs. My grinding leaves alot to be desired. I would say Spur maker dipping into bladesmithing. I do not make bits. feel free to ask and I will provide whatever I can about spur making. I made a set with a trucker girl on one side but somehow managed to just get phone pics. I will get pics soon.

As requested:

I went to Rays shop tour and found all the makers very inviting. However, I cannot seem to stay on task for long periods of time turning to other shop projects like jigs and various tools. I make more tools for knifemaking than I do actual knives.

Matt don't listen to Todd he would have you making those bendy things that look funny. All covered with bone and ivories. need any help like I said just ask( I was the guy doing the leather demo) . Mike

Todd, I have spent months druling over your slip-joints. I hope we can do business in the future; something in a wharncliff and jigged bone. Unfortunately, I have made several knives and have had the bug for sometime. I have included some credit for you folding knifemakers.

Argel55: I remember you well, very informative and very nice work.

Matt, iffen you make good tools for knifemakers that's just as good as being an honorary knifemaker. :)

I've never been to FT Gibson that I recall. I worked for Bonnie Plant farms and my route was in Tulsa. One of my favorite BBQ joints was in the Tulsa projects, Fat Daddy's All American BBQ. I hate to tell you this but you guys in Oklahoma suck as far as BBQ.

Neat spurs!

Welcome to BF, and VERY nice work !
That Friction folder is wayyyyyy cool !
