I got a blem 0551 second hand. The blem it seemed was the grind, notice the large extra point at the ricasso.

Well i took care of that (no warranty on blems anyway right?), and made it look more like a hinderer in the process :D also convexed the edge. next up is an OD scale. thanks for looking

That's awesome dude! If I pick up another 0560 I think I'd like to have something like that done to it.

Very cool, now all you have to do is sand off the xxxx on the blade, and you will have a second hand 0551!
I'm sure most knife guys wouldn't notice a thing, nice edge too.

That looks really good. Now get a hinderer scale for it. They make the knife look 100 times better.

I have an OD signed scale in the mail. should be here by saturday. Thanks everyone, i really love it. I drool over those xm18s and this brings me a small step closer to a knife ill never own

Very nice! Looks damn good and probably makes it way easier to sharpen to boot. Sweet mod.

How did you do that?

Clich, that looks GREAT! now etch 'modified in the usa' under 'made in the usa'. :D
Now I almost want one....

Mind telling us how you did it?

Just penciled on the shape and used a dremel and a sanding drum making sure to keep it moving so it stayed even and kept it cool by dunking it in what as to not screw with HT. When I got it to where I wanted it, I sanded it to touch it up and voila. Easy peasy
