I unblemed my blem 0551, NOW with NEW scale and STERILE! pg2

Love the scale, but personally I like my ZT logo.

i get that. but since ill never own an xm18 flipper, i wanted to style it as much as i could after that. I didnt mind the logo but im not a big fan of stonewash + logos. one or the other for me. and both went.

in my quest to make it as hindererish i can, i now have added an OD signed hinderer scale, AND sterilized the blade by removing the gaudy ZT markings. Comments are criticism is always welcome since it makes me better in the end.

Sterile! I think not (at least with that pocket clip:D). Maybe you could use a Skyline clip, I think there the same minus the ZT(maybe?).

Anyways, I like it! Being a blem you mine as well mod it and make it what you want IMO, nice work.

O I forgot the clip. For now ill
Sand it but maybe ill pick up an STR clip I saw on the exchange.

Thanks guys. Now if I can only fix the off center blade ill be happy. Btw what kind of grease is recommended in the pivot? It needs more after the disassemble.

Clich, that looks great! I like the logo too, but that looks sweet all naked n stuff.

How long did it take to sand off the blade markings? Those etchings are usually pretty deep.

Not long. They came off just a bit rougher than the stonwwash finish. Prob about 15 minutes total sanding then buffing with steel wool

220 to start and to remove the logos, then 500, then 0000 steel wool. I would have went up to 1000 but that would have been too shiny for my tastes. There are still faint sandpaper scratches but I like the user look so I pay them no mind. Now I'd like to see someone take one to a mirror polish, that'd be nice.

Nice! I may sterilize my 0560 this weekend and bead blast it.

I dig the knife, the added choil and the hinderer scale, but I wish you would have left the logos and finish alone :(
