I want an nmsfno

I love my NMSFNO(s). The ASH (skinny and std) are both awesome, too. I have done some ridiculous chopping with each of them and am amazed at how the edges hold up through the chopping and the many cases of "oops, I hit that rock in the dirt". I have an itch for a squatch now, and I think I am going to see what Garth may be able to do in the custom shop.
 
My favorite knife. Almost too big, handles like a smaller blade. Perfect.

To me they feel similar, but I like the TG's handle just a little more...probably because it flares out at the spine & tang a bit towards the pommel. My palm is a medium in glove size, but my fingers are closer to long.

Thanks Jaxx... I have smaller Medium glove as well, and so I have been wondering about handle options, grip and size as well... Also, wondering if the hand-shaped grips work better for smaller hands?
 
There's very little difference in thickness between the 2 types. I prefer hand shaped with bare hands...so much more comfortable to me, but with gloves, I prefer the machined handles. :)

Have you tried a Fusion Steel Heart? I had two NMSFNO and let them go, as I found that the Fusion handle felt better to me. Especially when chopping. The straighter SF handle style probably works better for the wider variety of tasks, but a knife this size is not really an all-rounder anyway, so for me, the balance of properties leans more toward the chopper role.

It is certainly true that the NMSFNO is a better value, but for the same $$ or less, you could get a SARSquatch, which makes for a fine all-rounder knife.

I have exactly the same thoughts.
Sold my NMSFNO. HHFSH and Sarsquatch will stay forever.
Just sayin' ;)
 
I love how Jaxx quadrupled his INFI by putting next to the mirror. Sure made me look twice! :)

I love my NMSFNO, and I just got it back from Norcalblacktail who convexed it for me!

I preferred the open handled NMSFNO to the FSH, even though Steel Heart is a cooler name IMO
