I want to like the 110 LT but.....

Have any of you people who don't like them tested FRN? They are way thicker than a Spyderco FRN handle, which I destroyed. It took a serious beating before any crack appeared. There's nothing to even worry about. Just don't buy it if you don't like light knives. Not sure why there's a thread complaining about a really decent knife a lot of people wanted.

Now, they just need to come out with a new titanium version, too.

FRN is good stuff, lightweight and relatively strong. I would love to see a G-10 version. G-10 is tough stuff!!

I'm thinking the 112 version of the LT and of course the aluminum frame 112 will both be perfect EDC's..The LT 112 will be even lighter than the 110 to the point where you might not know you have it! If the new shieth allows horizontal carry it will be very discreet too. I'm hoping there's different logos than can be moulded in the handle like some of the old Bucklites had..

I am the OP and if you read post #1 you’ll see that I’m not bashing this knife. For $21 it’s a good deal. Personally, I like the regular 110 for a few $$ more.

I recently received 1 Smoke Jumper and it had some blade play but I get it and I’m keeping it.

I also received 2 110LTs with significant (to me) blade play which I am also keeping 1 and gifting 1 in light of the price.

So I paid for 3 of them.

The 110 LT is one of the best made knives for the money. I've used a 422 bucklite for Hunting, Fishing and camping and everyday use for year's... If you use the tool right you should have no problems. It's not a hammer and not a screwdriver. All expensive knives will break if you beat the hell out of them and use them like screwdrivers. So will the inexpensive ones. I've carried a 112 and a 110 brass or nickel silver. I prefer of the 422... I haven't had a chance to carry the new 110 LT... I'm waiting on the 112 LT. That one I will carry for sure. Good luck with whatever tool you decide to buy and use.

I just don't see how an affordable plastic frame can be as strong as steel, brass, or aluminum frames - so I wouldn't expect it to be. I love the brass framed Buck 110's for my hunting and woods use but need to try one of Copper & Clads Aluminum frame 110 variations - I expect it would hold up to those jobs as well as the other frames. The old BuckLite and the new 110LT have been perfect fishing knives for me - lightweight with stainless blades and springs and handles that salt water don't bother (steel rusts, brass discolors, and aluminum will corrode). Fit the tool to the job and you will be happy. OH
it's pretty strong. it will hold up better than you might think it would.

I gave Bucklites to 2 friends years ago, they've been beat to hell but are still functional. Only problem is the tip is missing from one, but it's still in use by the farmer I gave it to.

Does anybody else have issues with the way it closes? Mine doesn't seem to have a strong enough backspring to snap it shut. Is this usual?

The run of the mill 110 lt I bought my dad for father's day closed like that. It has broken in and is somewhat better but not as nice to close as my smoke jumper. Seems like the center rivet (one holding the lock bar) is a hair tight. My knife will shut like that if I pinch the handle tight in the same spot (to simulate an over tight rivet...). But I can't complain. For the price and being US made I don't think anyone can beat the value of these things. I know they don't have liners, pocket clips, screw together construction, etc etc but compare one to a Spyderco Endura. Then consider the price difference. The Buck isn't too shabby.

I want to try one of the 110 LTs soon. Do you happen to have a telephone number for Copper & Clad? I need to TALK to them. Thanks.

Cough*cough *skblades*cough
Sorry for the confusion, don't get me wrong I definitely will do my purchasing from you, Steve. I have a question about a C&C exclusive Buck knife and want to TALK to a live person. I just can't find their phone number. I was hoping someone might have an invoice with their number on it.

Now if you can help me with one of their exclusive Buck knives, please let me know. Thanks.

Larry I was trying my hands at humor, though maybe I should stick to knives. :D But I would bet I could probably get some info on the knife by just walking into Buck and asking them if you need something.

Makael lives near Post Falls and picks up odd ball stuff like this at the factory store. I'd be curious as to the story behind this one.
This one came from the big W store. Must be their deal with Buck. I thought the price was a mistake to be honest. It's the only place I've seen this design on the scale. I wouldn't be surprised if all vendors didn't have their own type of scale design. Which makes this LT version a hard one to keep up with so many different versions we are about to see. SK Blades has done a great job working with Buck on some options we haven't seen before.

I think Buck bought the equipment to put Gunstock pattern on their scales in house. You would be amazed at the factory tour we got to take during the BCCI event. Buck has made great strides to bring so much of what they do in house. I believe I heard they make their own nitrogen in house.
