I do not have any knives from any of these companies. My personal price limit is lower than this. All five are solid, established companies, with excellent reputations. You don't have to worry about being let down by any of them, and if you decide to re-sell down the road, they hold their value pretty well.

What do you like about the Spyderco Magnitude? At the first glance, the pocket clip is really short.

It's just a solid, well made knife and I like the design a whole lot. Feels great in hand, there's no wasted space, and the edge is presented towards what you're cutting. If you're cutting something on a surface, the design keeps your fingers and the flipper from getting in the way. It has some of the best carbon fiber I've seen on a production piece. The one I have could use a harder detent but it's good enough to get it open. The clip is good and it carries well enough. It is a bit thick but that's part of what makes it good in hand. I also think Spyderco makes some of the best production linerlocks and framelocks. Other thing is I like having something that not everyone else has. The Magnitude just is something different. Right now, Blade HQ has them on sale for $189.99 so you'd get it a lot cheaper than I did and I bought mine off the Exchange back when they first came out.

Massdrop laconico keen is fantastic as is the bm 940. Fairly different knives and materials but both under 200 and great choices. The 940 was my first folder over 150 which i pined over for a long time. A legend in its own right. The keen is probably my favorite production knife as of late. Cant go wrong with either. I think ill break out the 940 today!
