I would like to sell my Bruce Lee Collectors Edition knife & Tin on eBay. But I am not sure how I would go about it. I know the person you sell it to needs to be 18+ but how can you be sure that person is the legal age and also what other things do I need to take into consideration so I don't end up trouble.?

Most people that are worried about it put a condition in their text, that by buying it the buyer agrees to be of legal age and can legally own the knife.
I see you are in England so the laws there are no doubt different than the USA, as well as stricter. You probably can find this information on UK eBay, in the answers section. Good luck!

Yes the laws over here are very strict and can land you jail time when it comes to knives.

So I was being careful and asking for advice

Thanks

What do you mean by that?
1, It might be a bit taboo to ask how to sell something here, since this is not ebay, and the answers you seek are on ebay, 2, a franklin mint knife is probably not gonna go for much, but thats up to the buyer, and 3, with 9 posts, this could be thinly veiled spam.
But... perhaps not. Happy Solstice.

Wow you got all that from my message and who cares about my post count it was a serious and well constructed question.

:jerkit: lmao

I'm pretty sure Ebay would be able to answer this question. Last time I checked they have pretty extensive explanations about how to sell items on their site. If you specify that only +18 are eligible to buy then you are following the letter of the law. You also have to decide if it's really worthwhile to sell your knife on Ebay. How much demand is there for a "Bruce Lee Collectors knife"?.

LOL why do you always put my topics in feedback :p
We have many subforums here, each with their own topics covered. Your questions happened to fit under FEEDBACK more than the catch-all General Knife Discussion.

We have a system of warnings and infraction points for deliberate or egregious violations of Bladeforums rules and these are enforced by the moderators. It's a good idea to read the FAQ for an idea of how Bladeforums works.

Many members have gotten into the habit of helping us weed out problem people, and some may even seem overzealous, but they mean well. samhain73 wasn't being discourteous, any more than you were out of line, although we do look for certain signs that historically attach to trolls or spammers.

a) Your possibly trying to sell a knife without paying for a membership was a question I also had, so clearly it is not merely one member who had concerns.
2) samhain73 was more reasonable in his response to you, than you to him.
last) The jerkit smilie is rarely well received outside of whine & cheese.
hope it gets better for you,
rats...

Just stick it up on e-bay. Its up to the buyer to follow the law.
As long as the knife is not an auto or bali then your not going to have any problems.

I once had an auction stopped for an AK bayonet but only because it was offered to international buyers.
If it was a UK only auction it would have been fine.

All your questions are answered on the e-bay FAQ any way.

Take a look at the sticky in General.
The forum is for knife discussion not how to buy and sell.

How do you sell on ebay.
Follow the example of millions. List the item.
