I will no longer use the T- word. JOIN ME!

I'm all for having the T-word added to the robo-censor's list, but instead of replacing it with "********" could it be replaced with "MIGHTY"? That's what my knife buddies and I like to call any truly, um, impressive piece of cutlery, e.g. "the MIGHTY Fury Shark" or "the MIGHTY Hibben Dragon-Evisceratinator" It tells you what a, er, special sort of knife you're discussing. I think that would kill the use of "tactical" even faster than replacing it with asterisks.

Quick question. Tuf-Cloth is super stuff, and it's apparently tested by Navy SEALS (who I'd guess need a good metal-cleaning implement quite a bit more than they need a folding knife)... so does this make it a "tactical" cleaning cloth? LOL...

Where can I get a "MIGHTY Hibben Dragon-Evisceratinator?"

I've been calling these one-hand folders and such "sport-utility knives" for some time now.

James,
Wouldn't that actually make them SUK's?

OK, I'm with you.
I always disliked "tactical" when it referred to knives.
That's why I always questioned "quick-draw clips".
In today's time and behavior, the best way I can describe it is "don't take a knife to a gun fight"

I'll remain "tactical" when I ride the motorcycle and date, but for now on, there's are no "tactical" knives.
<g> forgive me

Of course there are tactical knives! There are two definitions, Army and Air Force:

To the Army, a strategic knife is used to cut enemy supply lines. If a knife is not suitable for strategic use it could still be suitable for tactical use, attacking the enemy at the front. (Cf. Jim March on defanging the snake versus desnaking the fang.)

To the Air Force, a strategic knife is used on civilians; a tactical knife is used on enemy soldiers. Strategic knives are much bigger than tactical knives.

I think the word "tactical" is just funny, not annoying. I don't see any need for it being added to the filter list, that would make me think of that w a s h i t a thing.

Don't blame the word. Put the blame on the people that use it!
Or over use it as the case may be!

I gotta tell this story, even if it is one of those "you had to be there" sort of things...

First, the person (unnamed) that referred to a "fantastic tactical" as, well, how do you say...."fantastic testical" in a room full of people, resulting in total and absolute silence........to which I completely lost control laughing myself into hysterics.....

And my worst, when giving an oporder, I read, plain as day, to all my peers, about "..the testical movement across the DZ..."
Even the First Sergeant laughed at this one.

So, as far as the T word goes, I've slaughtered it enough I try to avoid it at all costs when speaking.
