Because unlike Kershaw or Bechmade they do not specify 'lifetime warranty'. And most of their products are made overseas!

Regardless of place or origin I would not make unfounded statements until you have tested the product. They make the Southfork a Phil Wilson design and he is a great American custom maker. Check the reviews on that blade. I am not a fan of the hole in the blade at all, but I don't run around talking trash on a company unless they have caused me an issue.

Your loss buddy! I wonder where your computer was made that you used to argue against buying things overseas.

Spyderco Warranty

Spyderco knives are designed and built for use as cutting tools. Use of our knives for any purpose other than cutting is considered abuse. As with any tool Spyderco knives can wear out. They may also fail to perform if not used or cared for properly. If your knife has been put to hard use for a long period of time, it is possible that the useful life of the Spyderco product has been exceeded and Spyderco will be unable to perform any work upon the knife that will improve the condition thereof.

Kershaw Warranty Information

In addition to supporting our products with this warranty, we will be happy to sharpen your Kershaw knife for free when you send it in for warranty service. What's the point of this American elitism? What because no other country has ever made a knife before the USA? Pathetic.....

Kershaw makes alot overseas too. So you are contradicting yourself. Besides, having things made overseas is not something to complain about because there's something called quality control.

You can't use a computer made in Taiwan or Japan or China to argue that people should only buy things made in the USA. Spyderco is an American company, all of the money is coming back to the USA, so settle down a little and enjoy what they have to offer.

Just picked up the H1 dragonfly on friday, made in seki city japan. Go on hating, this is my third spydie, all of which were made in different countries and all of which are fantastic.

I wish more people thought like you. Then I might be able to get my hands on the paramilitary 2 I want.

Spyderco's are awesome knifes. Some of there knives are made overseas, but a whole lot of them are not. To be honest, the ones made overseas are just as good as the ones made right here in the USA. Anyhow, more Spydercos for the rest of us.

If you use the Spyderco in relation to it's design you probably won't need the warranty. If it's a design fault you are probably going to find it within a year or two - after that several years of using the tool it's served it's purpose...seriously. We can only hope the three brands mentioned will still be here 30+ years from now.

I used to think the same for craftsman tools until I realized it doesn't really reflect quality. In my opinion made in USA doesn't either...and I am a big time patriot. At the same time, I understand using things like this to help narrow down selection and following your own gut.

I don't think many will see the thread and jump on the bandwagon though.

It seems some people only join bladeforums to trash on certain knife companies, Benchmade use to have the red class which was all made overseas.... I don't own a spidey but I don't jump on a forum to say they suck because someone whos not a American made the knifes, pretty sure you shouldn't buy any knives designed by non Americans too, because how could a German knife maker or a Japanese knifemaker possible know more then any single American knife maker..... Also this is a world wide forum not a USA only...
