Yeah pit we sure have similar looking dogs! As a matter of fact I bought her as a puppy in Victoria about ten years ago, when I used to live there. Could be related you know!

Nice post friend, I really dig you're style.

Can i bother to ask what type of tarp that is? I want to get into tarp-camping come spring but I have only JUST begun researching about it, all the tarps I've found are just as pricey as high-end tents - am i missing something here?

But as far as the tarp goes, that's a silnylon scout tarp from MEC up here in Canada...let me see if I can dig up a link for you.

Note the reviews at the bottom of the page...very simple item, well made and cheap. $64 Canadian so probably still under $70 US, I would guess (although I have not been following the dollar since last week and I assume the sliding oil prices have pulled the Canadian dollar down a little.)

Anyway you really can't go wrong on that item. Size works out to something like 7x9 feet. There is a larger model as well, around a hundred bucks.

Now that's pretty cheap compared to a high end tent!
 
i have the scout tarp as well, works great and small enough to pack in my b.o.b.

provides great shelter, a few feet of paracord and its rock solid i've used it in 3 seasons and its still holding up great.

mine happens to be the cheaper model which i paid around 35 dollars for i think.
