IBBB handle makeover in progress.

That dagger is just amazing! And the IBBB is looking great, too (at least, what part I can see). Looks like you have some nice BP revolvers, too. My son won a Colt Walker replica very similar to the one in front, in a drawing at a local gun shop, but his has a brass trigger guard (his was made by Armi San Marcos).

Standby boys and girls. The glue is hard and I'm making her pretty and boy is she pretty.

No words here how happy and proud I am of this Elk handle job. Why if my arms were a little longer I'd be patting myself, awe go choke yourself bawanna. Here's the pics.

I'm gonna let her set a couple days before I throw the polisher on the metal, don't want to risk heat until I'm sure she's good and set up.
I tried my Pugs suit on it and it was a no go, not even close. Blade is a bit deeper.

It adds a bit to the weight overall but the balance and feel are still extremely good to me.

You're gonna make a gen-u-wine blade smith one of these days if you keep it up! Looks terrific!

ohhhhhhhh mannnnn me likey alot, holy smokes dude that look amazing. Hey Dog you can send some of that stag my way if ya dont know what to do with some of it:D Dang that sure is nice Bawanna, blew my dress up for sure

Dang nice job Bawanna! Did it scare ya doing the pins:eek: They look very nice.

The whole thing quite frankly scared the wits out of me but I decided last night that today was the day and the worse that could happen is I screw up, have to scrape the blade off and start over.
It went really well. I love the look and feel of it.

A guy could of course file the outside to make it more symetrical (did the best I could with a non symetrical antler) but I like it rough and natural, I also like my knife handles that way too.

Speaking with Bookie, I think if/when I do my own I might even try it without pins at all. So used to a bowie having pins it's almost a requirement but on these micros if you fit em right and use the good stuff you don't really need em.

I'll probably never graduate to the point of carrying a gen-u-wine blade smiths undergarments but I'm happy enough with my effort for the folks on my side of the tracks and maybe the real blade smiths will let me hang out with them, long as I stoop and bow of course. Course the next antler might be a total pain in the back side and it'll be back to wood for me.

Patience not being my strong suit, my own IBBB is on the operating table today. Fingers crossed. Hoping for two winners in a row.

I decided to throw history to the wind. I love the knife, I want to carry it every day, Bhakta did an excellent job on the knife and I'm here to tell you when laha is applied properly it's one tough customer. Unlike mopars, I play holy heck getting the wood off mine. I did'nt want to take the time to boil it, drilled the pins out, and took a chisel. Took numerous major whacks to get them to pop. I'm happy to report I did manage to get them off in one piece so they'll be saved for posterity.

The metal is clean as can be and very nicely done inside. Back to the bench. Keep ya posted.

You just couldnt stand it eh? This should be interesting.
FYI: Top piece is yours! Do you think that will work?

Looks like it'll work to me. Wish it was here now. Better looking piece than I got.

If you want to wait for this piece ill send it off tue morn and you should have it before the weekend. If you can stand to wait that long with a piece of naked steel:D

I had it glued on there before you posted the picture. You know me and patience. That's a beautiful piece of antler though.

Should have mine close to done tonight. What can I screw up tomorrow. I love 3 day weekends.

Well we have a regular stag extravaganza at bawanna's this weekend.
Even put my stag grip on my Cbob so I'd match. On a whim and since I had exactly the right amount of antler I copied snowwolfs handle installer and covered the whole handle drilling out a hole for the lanyard of course. I can easily cut it back if I decide to later. I like the feel of it in hand both left and right handed.
I wish I could pass it around so everybody could give it a feel.

Mine

More super glue and polishing needed here and may shape it down a bit, I like the feel as is though, hand filling.

And the miracle of the weekend that will please Mr. Pugs I'm sure is the sheath still fits perfectly. I didn't even consider it when hanging the slabs and I made no provisions when I tried it, it just slipped in and fits perfect. Good retention and it looks like it was made special just for this knife.

I seriously doubt I could do that again on a large bet. Just one incredibly lucky weekend for me. And I'm beside myself (well not in any magical physical way) with happiness having a stag bowie from HI to carry around.

Wow! Now that is first class stuff! Great job again Bawanna! Thats great that it can still get in its pants too. That looks great with your pistol:thumbup:

Note I went no exposed pins on mine. I like the look of pins but good without too.

Very fine work, Joe. You should be proud of your efforts. I like the scales covering the entire tang much more than with the end exposed. Guess it's just more appealing and "professional" looking in my opinion.

I can go either way. I liked the little tang in case I need to smack something or poke a forehead of somebody that don't deserve to be cut. I do like the way it turned out and appreciate the kind words coming from a craftsman like yourself.
